Overall it’s an awesome place to stay in shin Osaka. Excellent customer service from all the front desk and dining area. The bathroom is clean and had enough space for my stuff. Shuttle service is a BIG plus, the drivers were all friendly. Location wise it’s great too as it is close to the train station

Hotel is in a good location with a handy shuttle bus to the station. We found it was not the easiest to find your way to the right exit to catch it though. Very clean with friendly staff. We stayed in a suite which was good but if you cook for yourself there was very little space to sit down and eat. Seems crazy to have a lot of space taken up with a bath meaning the living space is very cramped.

A convenient hotel, if you like to stay closer to Shin-Osaka station (arrival and departure of bullet train).Shin Osaka is 3 to 4 Kms from site seeing areas of Osaka and is on other side of river. Hotel room is small, not optimal design and and quite large compared to room.Said our room had city view. That was slightly misleading as outside the room, there is what I would say a maintenance corridor and hence we couldn't see the road and only the building ahead.

Staff was Professional and friendly to tourist. Offers a shuttle to shin osaka station if you don't want to walk. Room was spacious. Lots of amenities for the price paid.

Check-in was bad. Room did not fit reservation and wanted to charge me extra. The mgr the next day would have me wait for ever so I decided to leave. He did not care. Poor customer service.

In fact all the staff are very kind and helpful. The staff at the restaurant serving breakfast are all extremely helpful and proactive. Among them, I and my wife must praise a lady staff who is always very passionate in serving the guests with heart. She recognises us when we arrive, greeting us with great welcome, as well as when we leave. Indeed all other staff deserve our great praise. They are great and precious assets of the Hotel. We very much hope this very nice and clean hotel with such excellent staff can thrive well over decades in Shin Osaka.

washer & dryer is too small can only fit one set of clothes. if you have more than one set you need to use at a laundry room which we paid to have in room washer & dryer for our convenience.

We booked the Suite, 2 Twin Beds (Extra Floor Space) (This option seems to have changed name to "2 Single Beds"). We found each bed was too cramped to have two people sleep comfortably. The sofa was setup to sleep another person but didn't really work with our kids being too big.

Now, This hotel is perfect for me
I stayed this hotel for 2 weeks last year and I loved it. So, I stayed again this year for a week. The only downside of this hotel WAS the distance from Shin-Osaka station, i.e., 10 min walk. However, it started the hotel van service since this September. Now, this hotel is perfect for me. The only concern I had this time was the new front staff. I did not have any issues last year but I encountered issues communicating with a person who was not there last year. It may be just that person's issue, but this one person made my stay a bit difficult. Other than that, this hotel is convenient, spacy, clean, quiet, good for shopping.

We had one of the worst check in process at this hotel. The front desk who checked us in was very rude and unhelpful. The hotel did not honor the Expedia booking price. We booked a room with two beds for three people. We paid the extra guest fee through Expedia, which we thought was for guest #3. However, when we checked in at the hotel, they charged us another extra guest fee at 8000 yen per night. We explained that we already paid the extra guest fee, but was told that the fee was for guest #2 and we had to pay for guest #3. I feel that the hotel’s policy needs to be updated so that customers are aware that the price is for one guest and any additional guest is at 8000 yen per person per night. Honestly, at this rate we could have gotten two rooms at another hotel for much cheaper and at a nicer location. If it wasn’t so late, we would have walked out and asked for a refund. The hotel needs to update their policy and retrain staff to better reflect this issue. On the positive side, the hotel is across the street from Lawson and 15 mins walk from the train station. The rooms are small, but had the necessary amenities and even more such ad fridge, microwave, washer/dryer.

Holiday Inn & Suites Shin Osaka
Worth paying a little extra for this hotel as it really was excellent, surprised to have a well-equipped kitchenette as well as breakfast included. Room was big, modern and comfortable, excellent facilities (TV, aircon), plenty of plugs etc, really nice bathroom (separate sink area / wetroom bath and shower and separate toilet) - including a bluetooth speaker in the mirror! Breakfast was good - some western options (eggs, bacon, cereal etc) as well as Japanese (miso soup, rice etc). About 20-25 mins walk from Shin-Osaka station (where the Shinkansen stops) and plenty of convenience stores around, but it's a train / subway ride if you want to go into Osaka proper.

The staff have hospitality down to a T. But was disappointed at the room size. It was called a suite but felt like a normal twin room. We had difficulty finding space for our luggage. On the plus side there’s a washer/dryer in the room. Breakfast was ok but have had better options at other places in Japan. Is a 15 minute walk to the station but make sure you take the right exit as Google maps took us on a really long route.
