5/5 Excellent
"Beautiful location in a very quiet neighborhood. We stayed a week at Volcano Hale. Bought our own groceries near the airport since we read there were no stores near the house. Drove over 2 hours from Kona and less than an hour from Hilo when we did day trips. The house is only close to Volcano National Park. We did everything from seeing the turtles on Black Sand Beach, 4 wheeling to star gaze up over 13,800 feet on Mauna Kea Volcano, 4 wheeling to Green Sand Beach, saw Akaka waterfall, the sea arch, snorkeling at Captain Cook Monument, hiking 4 miles, secluded beaches, several costal cliff overlooks etc. This home was very comfortable in the middle of nowhere with beautiful flowers and we enjoyed the short moments we saw other guests. Everyone is tired after sightseeing so we all just slept. We cooked most of our meals here. There is a refrigerator to keep groceries cold. A stove, microwave, coffee maker with coffee provided and a toaster.
Lots of clean towels, shampoo, soap and toilet paper provided. No lotion or conditioner. We had to empty the dehumidifier daily and even had a guest from downstairs ask us to turn ours off because it rattled his ceiling. I guess bring ear plugs so you can sleep peacefully like we did. Our room #306 on the second floor had 2 queen beds. Same floor as the kitchen and dining room. The ground floor had several rooms, own entrance, bathroom and sitting area. The 3rd floor has another bathroom & 2 bedrooms. Yes we recommend this home. "
