Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa

"Room was nice with plenty of space, bath and shower, and could open the windows a wee bit which is nice. Staff helpful on check in, handy to have parking and on site restaurant. Bonus to have pool with steam and sauna. Would be better if you could manually switch on hot tub yourself though. Gym very modern for hotel looks pretty new. Parking is £7 overnight which is good and was easy to find a space."

"It’s a beautiful large spacious building with some very excellent function rooms and leisure facilities. The staff were very friendly and very professional. The dining room and breakfast was excellent. The subdued lighting was probably beneficial to those with a slight hangover from the previous evening. We found the rooms warm, comfortable and functional but lacked artistic charm. The dominant feature being an oversized TV screen, which remained unused. We felt the corridors to the rooms were also devoid of interest, texture or charm. I was startled to find a live silverfish in the bag containing the rubber shower mat in the bathroom. I spent the remainder of our stay wondering where the others may be hiding. The room was to the rear of the hotel and the hotel has an extensive car park at the rear. The noise from the car park disturbed our sleep as people came and went. This was especially disturbing after 01:00 am and also around 03:00 hrs. Some additional soundproofing may help with this."

"The hotel is very nice I every way…comfortable beds, quiet room, attractive and cozy. It’s only a 12-15 min drive to the airport without feeling like you’re at a basic airport hotel property. Only the restaurant was disappointing, food was mediocre (& we were seated by the kitchen /service door which wasn’t pleasant)."

"Ideal situation nice big rooms bed comfy bathrooms need upgrading no hot water for bath but shower fine toilet took a few flushes when using you pay £10 to use pool and £10to park in grounds breakfast bit dried up as its a buffet very steep hill to get up to hotel."

"Both Reception staff members I dealt with were excellent very helpful Young room service staff member very pleasant and helpful food delivered in a timely fashion I have stayed here a few times before and was very disappointed to be charged £7 to park in hotel carpark this time. I also usually drink Earl Grey tea but they had run out ☹️for which they were very apologetic. Breakfast excellent as usual (minus earl grey)"

"The staff was so helpful. What a special hotel with lots of history. I appreciated the quality and decor of the old hotel. The Sally is a special place. Breakfast was good and very conveniently organized making my morning get away easy."
Richmond Park Hotel

"Nice location if you have a car. Parking is free and there's plenty of space. Edinburgh airport and city, the bridges and the Kelpies are a short drive away. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Service is good. There is a pub and a restaurant on site, and the food is good. A petrol station with a convenience store is just around the corner. On the downside, some rooms are difficult to reach with heavy luggage (up several flights of stairs in narrow corridors), and the wifi signal is very weak there. Nevertheless, it's great value for money, and I would definitely stay here again."

"Perfect place to stop off, just off the roundabout. Nice clean room, staff very friendly. Breakfast basic but as you'd expect of a Holiday Inn, reasonable and kept us full for a good while."
