"The apartment was very clean upon arrival, checkin was easy, (keys in a lock box). Lots to see and do everything within walking distance. The beach 5 min walk and a large grocery also 5 min away. If you have mobilty issues this place has 34 steps to walk up to get in. There was no housekeeping and no broom to sweep up all the fallen palapa grass from the roof of the apt which seems to fall daily."

"Pleasantly surprised. This looks like a small motel, but is an apartment complex that rents out a few units. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedroom a separate from the kitchen dining room. Just a few blocks from the beach… and a great beach club. For a low budget trip, this place was just great. The staff did not speak any english but google translate helped to facilitate good communication. "

"We adored Puerto Morellos. Fabulous beach and lots of great beach restaurants. Quiet town with lots of restaurants and live music. The property was cute and the staff very responsive and nice. Our only complaint was the sewer system which was emitting odour in our suite by the end of our stay. "

"Location is right at the beach and close to everything. Having an ocean view room was amazing! flea market/souvenir stores, restaurants, club/bar, supermarket are all in walking distances. We used the kitchenette to prepare simple meals and avoided eating out. The beach is well maintained despite some seaweeds. The condo building is old but it is clean. We did not encounter any issue, except the 2 elevators can only carry 2 people each and 1 elevator was not working during our stay. "

"This apartment was wonderful! It had many beds, all comfortable and it was equipped with everything we needed. The location is excellent with Puerto Cancun just being across the street. The apartment has a wrap around patio with spectacular views to Isla Mujeres and the harbor. The only negative I would say is that the apartment has some rules we weren't aware of. The complex doesn't allow guests, even to drop you off or if you have family you want to hang out with in the apartment. You also...

"This apartment was a beautiful place to stay. I love the private patio area and that it was ocean view. I didn’t like that the water pressure to the shower was very low, it was barely dripping so that was really frustrating having to use the shower in the unit. I would also recommend that since there were no room cleaning they should at least have access to a washer and dryer so you can have clean sheets and towels throughout your stay. "

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort
4/10 Poor
"Pros- Most of the staff were very nice and accommodating. The nighttime restaurant staff were well trained and fun. The bartenders were good at their job. The food was very pretty. If you have kids that enjoy water slides they may enjoy them for a while.
Cons- There were not enough fun activities. The only things that were interesting to my 19 yr old was the beach volleyball and water volleyball. There was nothing that my 15 yr old was interested in. (He doesn't like sports) My 19 yr old really wanted to do kareoke but was not able to get in to it because of timing of dinner and limited availability of singing spots. The nighttime activities stop way too early. There needs to be table tennis or pool table or something that people can do. It just was not a very fun organized place. As for the food, the nighttime restaurants were pretty good, but if you like dessert this is not the place to be. The buffet food was very pretty and plentiful but was not very tasty. I also was very worried about the food safety because the food that was supposed to be cold was lukewarm. My 15 yr old and I got gastrointestinal sickness and were sick for 3 days, can't be sure it was from that but it was suspicious. Then, we had to pay $60 to the hotel for meds (anti-diarrhea and nausea) for our sickness. (Nice souvenirs)
Room service was very slow and unreliable. Booking through Expedia means you get walked farther out of the way to check in and they want to upsell other things to you wasting vaca"
"Our trip started out very good food and drinks were very good. Restaurants had awesome service and food with lots of variety. Pools and the beaches were exceptional. The sargassum wasn’t to bad the crews did there best to clean it up. The last couple days of our trip weren’t that great as our year and a half old daughter got very sick. The staff and the doctor on site were very helpful in the end she had to go to the hospital for treatment. The staff were amazing people who had helped us with getting to the hospital asap. Also with other things like making sure we had everything we needed. I should mention we have 2 other daughters who are older I stayed with them at resort while my wife went to the hospital with our youngest who was sick. The person that helped us a lot was Armando Martinez at guest services. He was super helpful, knowledgeable, and would do anything he could to help us and make us feel comfortable at a stressful time. There was another gentleman from guest services who had helped also I cannot remember his name but he also did an amazing job. We ended up staying an extra 2 days due to our baby girl couldn’t fly due to her sickness. They allowed us to stay in the same room which was great. The staff made us feel like they really cared for us which was really nice as it was a difficult time. Also want to mention that the doctor ran to our room as we called front desk that we needed him to come asap. Great people who work here!!"
Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya - An Adults Only All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"Friendly and accommodating staff. Johan went out beyond to make sure our group of 7 had what we needed, helped our group with dinner reservations as the app was hard to navigate and book dinner for a group. Nice pools, we only hung out in the big pool that had activity’s and music. But the chill out pool and swim up bar would be a nice place for someone who likes it a little quieter.

"Stunning views and great for kids, though food variety could improve
We recently stayed at this resort with our 4-year-old, and she had the absolute best time. The property is exceptionally clean, and the rooms are amazing. A huge plus is that all rooms are sea-facing, so you can’t go wrong with the view! There is plenty to do for kids, which kept her busy and happy throughout the trip.
A few things to note: as vegetarians, we found the food options a bit limited. While the quality was good, the variety/spread wasn't very large. Also, a small tip for the resort: more popcorn for the kids' movie nights would be great!
Tips for future travelers:
Dining: Book your steakhouse reservations early; it’s not a walk-in spot.
Spa: The spa isn't inclusive, so make sure to schedule your own appointments.
Packing: The Sensira shop is quite expensive. I’d recommend bringing your own beach toys and essentials from home."
"All of the staff was incredibly wonderful. They were very helpful anytime we had questions. The bartenders were always making sure everyone was having fun.
One thing that could use improvement is the restaurant booking system. It seemed that it just made more sense to go to the lobby and book your restaurant for the evening rather than battle the website or app which always showed everything was full. I have also stated all inclusive before where you could book multiple restaurants for a few days rather than the pressure of having to do it each morning, especially if you have an excursion. I also found that the restaurants weren’t even full when you went so that we made it frustrating that a lot of times you couldn’t get a reservation.
The food was good, not the best I’ve had at an all-inclusive, but I always left full!
One of my favourite things about this resort was how compact all of the amenities were. While I wouldn’t say it’s a tiny resort, everything was within a 3 to 5 minute walk at the most. All of the restaurants were together, and all the entertainment was really close to the restaurants.
The spa was lovely as well! We were very burnt when we went and they did a good job nurturing our sunburns while still giving us a relaxing massage/facial."
