Hotel Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"I have been coming to Cancún for about 15 years now, and without exaggeration, the food and general service at this hotel are the best I have experienced so far. The only issue is the beach, which is full of seaweed. If that doesn't bother you, everything else at this hotel is great. A special thank you to all the chefs and managers of the restaurants — they are clearly doing an outstanding job!"
"Overall, our family of three had a wonderful stay. The resort is beautiful, the pools and amenities were enjoyable, and the staff worked hard to provide great service throughout our vacation. We especially appreciated the family-friendly atmosphere and the effort made by the employees to ensure guests had a pleasant experience.
There are only two areas where I believe the resort could improve. First, we noticed several raccoons on the property, particularly during the evening hours. While they may seem harmless, raccoons can carry fleas and certain diseases, which may be a concern for families with children. Improved wildlife management would help make guests feel more comfortable and enhance the overall experience.
Second, the restaurant reservation system through the app could be improved. It was sometimes difficult to secure reservations, which can be frustrating for guests who are trying to plan their dining experience. I believe a first-come, first-served system, or a combination of reservations and walk-in seating, would provide a more flexible and fair process for everyone.
Aside from these two concerns, we truly enjoyed our stay. The resort offers many great features, the grounds are well maintained, and the staff deserves recognition for their hard work and hospitality. We made many wonderful family memories and appreciate the effort that goes into operating such a large resort. Thank you for helping make our vacation enjoyable."
"We bkd a Honeymoon Suite & anticipated a level of service/attention a similar accommodation would get on a cruise ship. Altho there was a butler and a large room, the level of service was not the same. This was almost definitely due to fact that we booked thru a 3d party, which was brought up time and again by the hotel staff & the salespeople trying to pitch a points program similar to time share. The suite itself was very dated and (literally) as far distant from the VIP Exclusive area of the resort (e.g. opposite end, near the kiddie pool!) as could be ... whilst renovated equivalent was clearly empty and available adjacent to Prestige Restaurant. We were told by butler on a daily basis that our restaur't choice was fully booked or only had very late hour availability... thus had NO Priority by virtue of paying for most expensive suite. Several of the restaurants were closed (presumably due to being off season), but not advertised as such & the beach was Totally Unfit For Use due to mountains of seaweed that was not being removed - simply left to rot (and stink) in large/deep piles. Thus, requiring a drive to a nearby town to access a clean beach. Room Service Disappointing: I ordered breakfast one AM & it came like UPBER delivers, in brown bag and plastic boxes +plastic fork! Staff, overall, very polite & tried to be helpful; food at buffet, generally okay to good, nothing special; Facilities, including pools, overall well maintained/clean & common areas updated."
Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort & Spa - All Inclusive
6/10 Okay
"The resort caters to younger kids but not teenagers. Room service was not great. Took too long to get food. Mini bar and snacks were not stocked daily. Had to keep requesting sodas and snacks. Property offers turned down service but only received it the first night. Seemed like they were very under staffed and the resort was maybe at 40% capacity."
