The resort is good, the servers & waiters were extremely nice, Mexican restaurant is fantastic, beach is stunning! We were a couple in the family suite, 7th floor on the far side from pool, room was nice and cleaned everyday. I wouldn’t want to be on floor 2-4 since it could be very loud at night during 8-10pm entertainment. Downsides; the check in process was slow, lounge chairs gone by 7am, very loud by pool during day, buffet food often overdone or cold, lots of people feeding the birds - why??

We have traveled to Puerto Vallarta many times in the last few years but this time for our honeymoon we chose this hotel based on the access to a beautiful beach. I have never been so disappointed in any hotel or rental or tent in the woods I have slept in. From clumps of hair in the lobbies to murky pools to dried blood on the bed sheets, this place has it all. This is a popular family destination so understandably there is a lot of ongoing noise but holding hotel entertainment events all night and hosting wedding dance parties each weekend night when all balconies face the location of the weddings was a little exhausting. The food in buffet and restaurant was sometimes leftovers from the day before. Days prior to check out, we request late checkout and were told it would cost around 400 pesos per person to check out at 2pm instead of 11am and we agreed to this. The day of checkout, we were locked out of our room at noon, spent 30 minutes waiting for the front desk to talk to us to be able to get back into the room. We anticipated the checkout line would take even longer so we got our stuff and got in the checkout line at 1pm, we were ignored and stood there waiting for almost an hour. We were then told the late check out fee was over 2000 pesos, that the 400 per person we were told the day before was just for food (nothing was mentioned about this at all until now). I was told “only 413 pesos were wasted if you were in line only an hour”. We paid and got out. total scam

the room person count was deceptive. Room sleeps 4 adults and 2 children. What was deceptive is that 2 children means 12 and under. Not 17 and under. Had to pay for extra room!! pretty lame!!

Overall awesome stay. Great staff; clean; awesome beach; excellent rooms; food was good; entertainment was great; amazing kid area and programs. Constructive criticisms: 1) The coffee was really bad. We are not coffee snobs. I’ll drink pretty much any caffeine but the room coffee and restaurant coffee were not good. The saving grace was a little cafe that had an automated coffee maker. I think investing in some better coffee would be a good idea. 2) We travelled with a 10 month old baby. They have cribs but they don’t seem very sturdy and would be easy for a climbing toddler to get out of. Some more modern cribs would be helpful for young families. 3) My wife is a celiac. She found it very challenging determining what was safe for her to eat and what was not. There was no allergy labels or ingredient lists available and it was sometimes challenging communicating the allergy depending on the staff we talked to. Allergy labels on foods would be very helpful for those with allergies. Overall, we had a great stay and we would recommend this place

This is a smaller resort in a great location, perfect if you want a combination of going into PV town or exploring the south zone beaches and taking bus & water taxi to beaches that are not accessible by road, such as Yelapa and Quimixto. Catching bus is cheap (10 pesos) & easy right outside hotel. Room was clean & spacious, with lovely beach and sunset view and beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the shade on the beach, never got a lounge chair around the pool as all taken and we preferred the beach, sand was soft but ocean too rough to swim, pool bar service was slow, the lobby bar was better. We liked the water bottle refill station on each floor. Good food at buffet, lots of choices. Restaurants were good too and no reservations but you had to wait to get a table unless you show up right when they opened at 6:30. Reception a bit slow at check in and out, we had an evening flight home and although we had to check out at noon, we were able to leave our luggage and keep bracelets on until 2:00pm. Also we loved that our bracelets were also the room key. Entertainment was good.

With limited word capacity, let me start by saying that most staff in this resort are friendly and hard working. When booking a resort you look forward to the all-inclusive amenities that come with the package deal and you hope for a smooth and quick transition to enjoying those perks. During our initial Saturday arrival to Grand Park, we were welcomed with a 30 minute wait to check-in. If there was a long line, we’d definitely understand; but rather it was due to limited staff at the reception area. Since we arrived a couple hours before the 3pm check-in to the room, they directed us to another area to have our baggage stored, where we waited close to another 30 minutes to be helped with this. Already frustrated, we went to grab a bite to eat. To our dismay, we learned that 3 of the 4 restaurants were closed for lunch hour (One in fact was closed both Saturday and Sunday for lunch and dinner). The buffet area was open, but it didn’t take long to realize that the quality of the food was well below standard. They also had a pool bar where they served burger and fries, but the line was very long (and again, food wasn’t good). Beyond the limited and poor quality food we were disturbed to find bite marks on our legs and arms from the bed bugs (family members had same experience) In addressing this with staff, no compensation was given and the staff didn’t seem too concerned. This is a resort that we are definitely not returning to in the near future, nor one we’d suggest.

There is no shuttle bus from airport to the resort. The room is clean. Cleaning service was very slow. Called the front desk to get towels after 3 hours came back to my room there was still nothing. Towels in the pool always run out. I was told to wait 5 mins for towels, after 5 mins, I came back and was again told to wait another 10 mins. Food was average. Not so many options and the taste was so so . The Italian restaurant was kid prohibited. I came with my family with my daughter and never had a change to try Italian restaurant. Line up to get lobster for lunch, and when at my turn there was nothing left. Bikini was not allowed in the Veranda, i grabbed the towel to cover myself and the restaurant supervisor told me even with towel, I was not allowed to get in. Other people with see-through net jacket were okay to come in. I had no idea the difference and the reason for stopping me to come in. The pool was in very bad condition. The surface of the pool was very sharp. I and my daughter both got knee cut while we were in the kid pool.

We were very impressed with this resort!! The choice of food is very good, treated like special guests in the restaurants, very good service! The Italian is classy, love the eggplant appetizer. Homemade tiramisu designed at the table with a special shake of Bailey’s was great. If you like seafood, check out the seafood restaurant, the whole fish is baked to perfection. This is a very well run resort. The design of the building makes a view from all floors. The drinks are great, especially like the mango margarita at the lobby bar. If you want some luxury, check out 12th floor, big outdoor lounge beds, the spa massage is on 12th floor and a great clean gym. Indoor pool on 12th, where you can look down on beach. The secluded bay is just the right size, lulled to sleep by waves. Not great for swimming in the ocean, some undertows. Main restaurant has a huge variety, very pleased with service there, friendly staff! If u forget a soup spoon at the buffet they meet you at your table with a spoon, good waiting of tables. Lounges look out to sea or surround pool, your pick, get towels down early! Entertainment and crafts, dancing, yoga, Zumba, fire dancing, Mexican dancing, etc very good time to be had, noise from entertainment is over early but they have regular entertainment starting at 9:30 pm each night. All in all, a bit of paradise!!

Overall a little alarming that their “concierge” attempts to hustle you, asked for my credit card number so he will be able to receive his commission when I refused at the end he asked to just give him a big tip. He never did anything for us never received menus, pretty weird. Service is pretty terrible uncleaned room. They have Limited staff, long lines for every dinning options, service staff refuses to give you bottled water and have you used their canter system which is a little alarming since they are water fountains. Beers are warm, dinning hours are very confusing and food is gross. Never any towels at the pool and no pool service unless you flag som one down and tip them upfront for them to come to you. Would not recommend to anyone, rather pay a little bit more somewhere else.

I liked the hotel and the location. I didn’t like the volume of the shows. It’s a small space and the shows were way too loud for such a small area. I was on the 8th floor and the volume was ridiculous. The food was very bland. We liked the Italian restaurant. Went 3 times. Everything else was actually pretty great

I have been to Puerto Vallarta a few times and will make the best of any place. Here is my feelings from my 10 day stay. The Pros -rooms are very nice -gorgeous views -ocean had large waves and can be fun but also quite dangerous for children and can be closed some days -surrounding area is gorgeous -Italian restaurant is good -Friday Mexican buffet was good -coffee bar was nice -gym is decent -top floor is nice for relaxing(need special access) Negatives -food is average -service is pretty average and low staffed -pool is packed and almost unusable because of amount of people -chairs hard to come by

For the price this hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff were wonderful and earned their tips. Our young daughter loved the pool and beach but she was too shy to really enjoy the kids club. We had some nice downtime days in the room, which had an outstanding view and great 24h room service. The nightly entertainment was great and we enjoyed a show nearly every night! It is about 15-20 minutes from town, and taxi was anywhere from 130 pesos to 200 pesos. To the airport was 300-400 pesos. There isn't much around the hotel to check out but the hotel itself is nice.

It was a nice stay. The sun doesn’t hit the lounge chairs til about 2pm. Nice variety of food. Staff were fun. Not a long beach and couldn’t walk it at times due to waves, but it was their winter. No shuttle from the airport and got sucked into going to a time share presentation…. Made the best of it as we were there for 2 weeks.

I love the staff here. The grounds are clean and updated, the pools blue and perfect temperature, the foods good. All of that being said, its the staff that makes the place special. Max welcomes you with a smile and is the best at hetting fast, safe transportation (he's Max #1). Elizabeth is so kind and so beautiful. She will get your room, always say hello and help you in any way she can. Then go have a drink with Isabella. Shes young, witty and fun. I LOVE her. If you can, splurge on a room with the rooftop pool and bar. Before swimming in a indoor pool with open view of the surrounding area and breeze/sunshine coming through. However, before you do, stop for a salmon sandwich (delicious!!) and a drink with Sophia and Enrique. They are an awesome team and keep a chill vibe with flowing drinks and food on a beautiful rooftop lounge. Please, if you go, tell them Jessica says hi. I cant wait to go back. Im sure I forgot some great staff and for that im sorry. I would 10/10 recommend. I used to stay at Hyatt Ziva, but I have a new favorite!
