I'm almost afraid to rate this place, because if it gets too popular, will I still be able to get a room again? . . . Actually, I shouldn't even use the term "room." The "rooms" are quite spacious, especially if you pay a few dollars more and graduate to a 35 sq. meter palace, like I did. Good sized bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, patio balcony. It's not a room. It's a small apartment.
One review I read before I went there said the place was "squirky" and antiquated. I don't understand how that's a negative. If your architectural tastes are such that you insist on 21st century contemporary design, then don't stay here. But if you value having your "space," with good, attentive service at a reasonable price, this is the best I've seen in Quito since I first visited in 2000 (before moving here).
Now if I need to be near the airport, sure -- I'll get a room in Tababela, instead. But if I have business near El Centro, this is the place to stay, hands down. It's close enough to Foch Plaza to walk and eat whatever you want, and it's far enough from "las farras" to enjoy the peace and quiet.
It was a wonderful two-day experience.
It's where I'll be staying from now on when in Quito on business.
