"Had a very nice spacious room with a balcony (with no furniture) that overlooked the terrace. It is advertised as an ocean view room which is not true due to the very large new hotel directly in front of this one. Breakfast is a good normal breakfast for this Marriott chain hotel. Very disappointing was that the outdoor fire pits are no longer allowed to be used due to the homeless in the area according to the front desk clerk Polani. So that was a bummer. Loved the water fill stations on each floor."

"Hotel was a gem in the Carlsbad village. Walking distance to resturants and shops. One concern was the room placement where air conditioning units of the other building were right in front of the balcony along with being right next to the elevator, too noisy for us. The front desk should warn clients this before placing them in such a room. The breakfast and the mid day treat was a nice touch."
