Great Comfortable Hotel with breakfast. Location of the hotel is right in the heart of all the attractions and shopping outlets. All the staff were fantastic. Our family really enjoyed our 5-night stay and could not hope for anything more. Hotel and staff should be proud. Thank you all.

Hotel Erdarelli is an old school hotel in all the best ways. The room was compact but spotless and nicely maintained. The concierge staff were super: friendly, helpful, and spoke English quite well. The breakfast was a classic Italian breakfast with fresh bakery pastries and bread, great coffee, and yogurt and cold cereal for us foreigners. Housekeeping was thorough so we always came back to clean towels and a spotless room at the end of our days. The hotel is extremely convenient walking distances to all the major site seeing attractions, except the Vatican. But even the Vatican was a reasonable walking distance away. (35-40 minutes or so). If there is a downside to the Erdarelli, it is the wifi, which is weak and cuts in and out making it difficult to address business matters while traveling. We ended up stopping in cafes with wifi to handle business emails.

We were very satisfied with our stay last week. The hotel is centrally located and easy walking distance to the Spagna and Barberini metro stops. The Spanish Steps are right down the street! The front desk staff always had a friendly greeting for us as we returned for the day. The room was adequate for our needs and was clean upon check-in. We could smell the bleach used! We would recommend this property to other travelers.

One particular hotel staff member was amazing, so friendly and happy to help with anything. The rest of the staff we experienced could have been friendlier or even acknowledge us! Location is perfect for being in the centre of Rome as it is close to everything. Room was a great size and breakfast very nice.

Cheap in great location
This hotel was fine - it was in a brilliant location, the staff nice, the breakfast adequate, (if you fancy pastries/ cake and no fruit or fresh bread), and the room met most of our needs. The room itself, despite being small and outdated was ok. The only problem was the bathroom, and to be more specific, the lack of showering facilities as the shower head in the bathtub didn't work.

Fails to meet my 2 Star expectations...
I stayed one night at Hotel Erdarelli for one night and I went in with 2 Star expectations and was disappointed. Pros: Location is easy walking distance to most Rome attractions Breakfast was decent Staff was good Cons: Room hadn't been updated in 50+ years Most of the power outlets in the room didn't work** Bed was more like a cot Wifi only available in lounge **Hotel was working at updating the electrical and actually moved me to a different hotel at no cost because of these issues. Would I stay there again? Probably not.

I wonder if this hotel even passes basic health and safety!
Disgusting is probably not strong enough a word for my room. The hotel seems to be renovating at the moment but I was on the 3rd floor and really, they should not charge for these old rooms as they are at risk of not meeting basic health and safety standards!! I have travelled a lot all over the world staying in many different hotels and this is the most disgusting I have ever been to. Cons: - walls disintegrating - carpets very old, stained & not hoovered often - wifi only in reception area - breakfast - only few cereals, orange juice & pastries - bathrooms (shared) look like they were rarely cleaned - a dirty facecloth & hair & dust were never cleaned from the bathroom during my 3 day stay. - hallway walls & carpets were badly water stained - No hair dryer in room - no access to an iron available nor did they want to arrange one / help. I had to buy a new dress for the wedding I was attending because I couldn't get access to an iron. - curfew imposed during the week because they close between 1.30am and 5.30am. This was very inconvenient. Pros: - Clean bed sheets & towels - staff nice but do not want to go out of their way to help - central location The hotel, while cheaper than the other hotels in Rome, was not value for money.

This hotel needs serious maintenance
Rome is such a beautiful city that nothing can ruin the experience of being there. However, after a long day of strolling in the streets, one needs a properly working shower and easily flushing toilet. This hotel, while its location is quite good, fails to provide the basic needs of its customers, most importantly a functioning bathroom. My bathroom was so small that if I was a larger person, it would be impossible for me to fit in. The water running from the shower was either boiling or freezing. The shower head could not be mounted on its pole, which meant that I had to hold it with one hand, while shampooing myself with the other. The room itself was so tiny that there was hardly any space for my luggage. It looked clean, but it needed overall maintenance. Over the years, I have stayed at various 2-star hotels in Italy, but this hotel was probably the least satisfactory.

It is close to everything. I walked everywhere and never used transportation with the exception of airport transfers. It was a small room with ac but not windows. It was good enough just to sleep in. Breakfast was included and the staff was friendly and helped out. Spoke good English. The didn't have a bathroom it had one for each floor. Overall the hotel was that great but the location couldn't be better for the price.

decent sleeps, great location, OK value
perfect location near spanish steps yet surprisingly quiet at nite. not for the faint of heart, as the staff was good with the towels but not keen on keeping the (shared) toilets operating - one of two in hall was plugged for >36h. also floor not swept in 8d, and the breadkfasts were not good. price was low for rome, however, so not a bad tradeoff. might get better once construction finished. (windows obscured by scaffolding at present)

Put it in perspective
If you have ever stayed in a popular European city before, and not paid an arm and a leg, you know what the hotels are like. A small room with a bed, closet and sink. A shared bathroom down the hall. Erdarelli Hotel was clean and the staff was very pleasent and helpful. They told us about the area, and reserved a cab for the exact time we needed. The breakfast was enough to get us started for the day, a pleasent surprise since it was free! The location was awesome, a short walk to the Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain as well as two subway stations. We would return!

Good Deal, Poor Area
Old hotel rooms, but clean and cute. Near termini, but not a particularly savory area. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Breakfast is served with no-fuss no-frills professionalism, which for us was a couple of croissants and a couple of packaged toasts with jam. One unusual warning- we were on the bottom floor, and left the shutters unlocked, only to have a thief steal my bag with passport in it while I was sleeping. This may not be a problem for you- especially if you are not an American, and if you just lock the doggone window!

Perfect Accommodations for a Traveler
This hotel is nothing fancy, but has everything that a visitor to Rome would need--a clean bed, decent room, and a shower. If you're looking for a Marriott or Holiday Inn, this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for a decent space in a great location and a great bargain, this is the place for you. I would definitely stay here again. There was no AC in our room, but the room stayed cool and the windows opened all the way.

Less than expected
The hotel is in a great location, only a 5 minute walk from the Spanish Steps. The hotel itself, however, lacks basic maintenance. The few electrical outlets that worked had exposed wiring. The shared shower was nonfunctional. Loose tiles on the floor, etc. I am accustomed to budget traveling, but this one was a bit expensive for what it offered.

Great Location
This hotel is super close to EVERYTHING. It was clean, the towels were big and fresh everyday and as a solo female traveler I felt safe. The breakfast isn't huge, but the croissants with chocolate were fresh every day (I saw the delivery truck, even on Sunday)and I enjoyed coffee on my balcony every morning. It's an old hotel, but it's charming. I will definitely stay there again. I also shared a bathroom, but only with one other room and I never ran into the other people at all. I was afraid it was going to be inconvenient but it wasn't.

Prepare Yourself
Just don't book this hotel. My friends and I walked into the hotel with high hopes because the lobby looked incredibly nice. It was deceiving...We walked into our room and expected the whole bathroom/room setup...nope...It's nothing like an American hotel, but if you're just looking for a place to sleep, I guess it'll do.

great location
this was the second time I went to Roma with friend. the hotel was really out of date, no internet access, manually operated elevator, the lobby looked nice, but once you got to the room which was really disappointed, very tiny tiny room with tiny bathroom, I have been travelling a lot on business trip, this is my own short vacation trip with friend, we have 3 luggages, we have to leave one luggage in front of the entrance door, because no space at all in the room we can place the third luggage, the light in the room was dark, the bathroom was tiny. very noisy at night.the only good thing about the hotel was in great location, you can walk to Spanish step and short distrance to Collesum, THe st. peter's church, Trevi fountain by bus or metro.

Great Location with all I needed
I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you plan on really staying in the hotel. However, who really wants to do that while in Rome? The location of this place can't be beat. It's right near a Metra stop and a 5 minute walk from both the Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain. The Pantheon can't be more than 10 minutes away either. The room was small, but it was enough for the two of us. We had a balcony as well which was wonderful. In terms of amenities, there wasn't too much. We had a TV on the wall, but hardly any of the lights worked in the room. The elevator was slightly terrifying. Our bathroom was a shared bathroom, which we knew we were getting. There was nothing at all wrong with that. Breakfast was served daily. It was mostly bread, cheese and coffee. It was plenty for us. All in all, I would definitely stay at this place again if I were in the same situation. An early 20s traveler with his girlfriend. I wouldn't really take a family here, but the price was great and it was more than I expected.

Great location, great price
I would highly recommended this hotel if only for the price and location. The building is very old, and you can tell, but it is right in the middle of Rome. Almost everything that you would like to see is easily in walking distance. I found the beds to be very comfortable. Showering was a little difficult. There are not bathrooms attached to the rooms and not all of the shared bathrooms have showers in them/have shower curtains if there is a shower head. My room did have a sink which made not having own bathroom really not a big deal. Breakfast in the morning was very delicious. The people working at the front desk know just enough English to get by, but the hotel provides you with lots of maps and brochures of the city so it is not necessary to ask them a whole lot of questions. The hotel may not be the most modern place in the world, but assuming that your reason for being is Rome is to see the city and not spend all day in a luxury hotel, then all that really matters is location, comfort of beds, and quality breakfasts and this hotel has all of those things.

Amazing location!!!! When they say the hotel is within walking distance from the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish steps, they aren't kidding! They were surprisingly close and very easy to get to. The complimentary breakfast was very good. Lots of sweets and coffee. The rooms are nice. They include a tv and a sink (the bathroom is for the whole floor, but it was very clean). The only problem I had was that the hotel advertises that they have an airport shuttle. This is not true. It's a taxi service that costs 50 euros one way. This isn't bad if you are traveling with more than 2 people, but very inconvenient if you are by yourself. There is always the option of taking the metro and then the bus, but it was only a 7 euro difference.
