Helpful staff

The staff at Hotel Casa Zanartu were so helpful. We had issues with an excursion we wanted to book and they walked us through the whole thing. Even called the company for us and translated the exchange.

Good location

This is in an excellent location, about 20 mins walk to/from airport bus and 10 min straight walk to centre. Cheap eats nearby. Friendly, helpful staff.

It is an interesting old building and very authentic Chilian older style inn....its a bit annoying that the rooms face the interior and you hear everyone in the am and it wakes you up....other than that it was very nice

The staff was very helpful. They even printed our boarding pass, made phone calls for us and were extremely patient and polite. The room was large, well decorated. The breakfast was complete and serbes in a lovely patio

Property is as per website. Convenient, accommodating staff and a good breakfast. Hot water. Our room was at the front and as per a previous review it does get noisy from the street, no good for light sleepers. Would stay again but a room at the back. Thanks a pleasant stay.

Stay was okay, but left something to be desired. The staff were genuine, helpful and enjoyable to chat with. The hotel room was hot, minimal air flow, towels were stained and old, and the bathrooms shower and door was very difficult to get in and out. Also no bar or hand soap was provided - ensure you bring your own. Otherwise the restaurant has a cute courtyard with a good atmosphere. We came down each night and enjoyed the lights and people watched. Food from restaurant was good, avoid the desserts. The hotel is located a bit out of the main tourist area but felt safe and was fun to explore around the streets.

Only stay here if you need the bare minimum

The rooms are hella old, I understand is an historical building but that doesn’t mean they don’t have to get new beds if necessary and also there is not enough light in the bedroom. The thing that bother me, the most was that they cut out the light in the middle of the night, so I had to go to the front desk to get that fixed. The pictures actually don’t show the real Ambience of the hotel. I do have to say that most of the staff was very friendly and they were always willing to help. As far as the stuff goes great, the rest was very basic and lacking.

Had to pay for early check in within 1 hr away

We arrived at the hotel around 12h40pm and the check in was at 2pm. The lady at the front desk said that the room was ready but i had to pay a fee for early check in. At almost 1 hour away she still wants to charge me $20 which gave us a bad taste in our mouth since all other hotels in our experience happily gave us free early check in according to availability when we arrived early like 8am. Here it was only 1hr away and of course we were exhausted by the strike in this country already affecting our itinerary. But there was no consideration. So we paid the fee. Everything else was fine. The gentleman ar the desk was helpful for some documents i needed printed out. Upon check out though they were able to hold our luggage for a few hours free until our flight that afternoon (which i believe should be a standard courtesy from all hotels).

Good enough for 2 days

We arrived early in the morning and were pleasingly surprised when as a courtesy they offered us a room. It was room #20, facing the street. We were out all day and did not realize how loud that room would be. Also, the towels in the room were wet and the heater did not work, so we were offered and extra blanket. It was around 35°F at night. We asked to be changed the next morning, we got room #29 and what a difference. Had I gotten that room from the beginning, even if we had to wait, I would've given them a higher score. The "breakfast" is 2 pieces of bread per person, one slice of ham, one of cheese per person. Instant coffee, "juice", and yogurt with pepitas, chia seeds and corn flakes (this was the best part of breakfast). You can purchase other items as they have a cute café with baked goods. They have a computer out in the open that you can't use, found out the hard way as I was having issues with my phone. The rooms were large and clean. I really enjoyed the charm of the hotel. The location is really good, close to the metro, but sketchy at night. During the day is definitely walkable to most attractions.
