Kudos to Hotel Meridien for having Ms Ana Echeverria and Mr John Freire. They are helpful, friendly and accommodating. A pleasure to stay here. The room is immaculate, food delicious. The Hotel close to Metro yet quiet, safe area.
Desk Officer Gonzalo was outstanding providing us a great welcoming, tips for the city and staying as well, he made sure to book reservation at a restaurant for us and to upgrade our room due to a A/C malfunction. Great work!
Lovely staff, hotel had everything you need, lovely pool, most things are walking distance, metro nearby. Lastarria is a safe area to stay, especially if traveling alone.
Outdated rooms as well as some of the common areas (3rd floor -spa, gym, changing rooms, lockers & pool). Good location and generally good service from staff.
Not the safest area but had very easy access to the subway. The hotel’s sparkly hour was very nice with the opportunity to meet other patrons…and the staff was the very best!!
We really like this hotel. One of the best so far. It is very close to the main tourist attractions, which allowed us to walk to. However; what we enjoyed the most was the hotel staff. They were so polite and ready to help us with our needs and answering our questions. The two concierge/ bell men were especially helpful in telling is what to visit and how to get there. They also continuously reminded us to be careful for pick pockets and they were right as we met people that were robbed during their stay. Highly recommend to all travelling to Santiago to stay at this hotel.
I really want to give this hotel a better rating because the staff was great. That said, I can't possibly recommend this hotel. The neighborhood isn't safe after dark. Several locals that I talked to told me that this is a crime infested area, and an American tourist was actually stabbed to death last year in this neighborhood (I looked it up. It's true). They have giant metal gates that lock down the hotel after dark. The hotel itself is in desperate need of a facelift. The carpets are stained everywhere. The phone in my room didn't work. The TV was incredibly outdated. The food in the restaurant and bar was outdated and extremely overpriced compared to restaurants in town. I can look past a lot of the cosmectic things, but the fact that this neighborhood is extremely unsafe by itself compels me ot urge people not to book here.
The location was good for walking to attractions, museums and restaurants. The room & beds were very comfortable. They stored our luggage after check out before our late evening flight.
Good staff, clean and comfortable rooms, but a terrible restaurant, both in terms of cleanliness, the competence of the staff or the quality of the food does not reach the level of a street eatery in Zimbabwe.
This isn't a hotel, it's a shambles. It's completely dilapidated, old, and dirty, with carpets caked with grime. Out of three elevators, only one works, and the wait time exceeded 20 minutes. You had to call the front desk to get a poker player to take the elevator up to 22 floors. It's a joke. A miniature cookie as an apology, a joke? I'm surprised a chain like Le Meridien would brand this hotel as a disgrace. for the price they charge the value for money is absurd

Needs a makeover
The hotel is very tired: decor and tech-wise.
Most staff lacked friendliness except Richy, who provided a welcoming touch.
Just as almost everybody else has said, the neighborhood isn’t nice. There is a bohemian neighborhood a short seven minute walk. A certain name change to Le Meridien, they still have a lot to do to bring this hotel up to Marriott standards.

Don’t book this through hotels.com if you need to make any adjustments.
They let me know that because it was third party there was nothing they can do.

Location is excellent; 5 min walk to the subway and dozens of bus stops at your doorstep. The area around the hotel is quite rundown; business closed. The closest restaurant area is 15 min away. The property is in the middle of restoration; will belong to Marriott as of December. The rooms are certainly not in best shape. Dirty carpet and dated furniture.

The building is old and outdated. In the process of been remodeled. The carpets are dirty and stain. Even though the sheets and towels are clean, the whole building look nasty because the carpets.
Hotel is very tired. It is walled in behind guarded heavy security gates. The immediate area is awash in graffiti, and all stores and shops in the immediate area have permanently closed. Carpeting was worn and dirty and toilet did not flush properly.
