A wonderful stay, only down side was no air conditioning when it was a hot day, but A/C isn’t common so just be aware.

This is a pleasing new, or renovated, property with a friendly staff at reception, a good housekeeper, an excellent breakfast, and located in beautiful surroundings. It was about 15 minutes, by bus, to the Berchtesgaden central train station, in one direction and about 15 minutes, by bus, to Konigsee. It took awhile to understand the bus schedules.

Wonderful Bavarian countryside retreat.
Wonderful location in the Bavarian countryside. The hotel staff were very friendly, food was great, and our stay was fantastic. Nothing like waking up to cowbells ringing as the local cows are all outfitted with cowbells. We definitely plan on returning in the future.

Friendly staff but overpriced rooms.
Lady at the front desk was AMAZING and so helpful, she really made the effort to make sure we had a wonderful stay. The rooms and breakfast were ok. Comfortable beds but they don’t use mattress protectors so stains showed through the sheets which was not ok. There was also dog hair on the blankets in the wardrobe and when we asked for them to be cleaned they didn’t bring them back again. Overpriced and I probably wouldn’t stay here again. If it wasn’t for the lovely lady at the front desk I think we would have had a worse time!

Loved the mountain view! Hates that there is no ventilation or movement of air in the room, had to open the back door at night. No air conditioning, and the pillows were so soft you could almost classify them as a sheet

Great stay!
About 10 minutes drive from Berchtesgaden, nice and quiet neighborhood, with a few small hotels around. Only 4km away from the dock for Lake Konigssee, very convenient. The property is in two buildings, the room we booked has a living room with a pullout sofa and a bedroom with a king size (two single beds put together). The hotel gave us a guest card for each person which provides discounts for parking around the town and other discounts. Friendly staff overall. Breakfast has good options. Would stay next time if in the area.

Great hotel near Eagle's Nest
This was a great family friendly hotel just minutes from Eagle's Nest and salt mines. We stayed in the newer of 2 buildings. Very spacious and relaxing. The restaurant for dinner was wonderful as was breakfast in the morning. Plenty of easy parking and beautiful views. My only regret was we didn't allow ourselves enough time to enjoy the pool.

The apartment room size was great for a family of 4 ... is like 2 rooms ... it had many facilities... the restaurant is quite good. Is close to many great excursions.

Nice family hotel, but about that elevator...
At first we weren't sure if this hotel would be quiet - lots of kids running through the halls when we arrived - but that changed once the sun went down. The room came with a nice balcony. Breakfast was very good. The only complaint would be about the elevator. It's clearly quite old and needs replacing. There's a note posted in it to be patient with its slow pace - and it was very slow. That wouldn't have been terrible except that at one point it stopped altogether (with me inside) and I stood in the dark fumbling for the buttons as panic set in. Luckily, I found the right one. After that, I took the stairs, even with heavy luggage. The bigger concern is for guests who are unable to use the stairs.

Surprisingly great room. Awesome view!
Did not expect much based on the photos from Orbit’s site. But the room was much better than we expected. High ceiling, spacious, and nice size of bathroom. From our room, we could see mountain and sunrise next morning. We arrived late so ate dinner at the restaurant. The pork knuckle was awesome and very reasonably priced. The Königssee lake is about 5 minuets away.

Great location, hotel was beautiful, great amenities. Breakfast was very good, a lot of choices. Immaculate clean. Staff was very friendly, polite and always helpful and offered their great knowledge to plan excursions in the area.

Fantastic food
The hotel was a bit kitsch, but the rooms were beautifully clean and the service fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious and such fresh, local produce in a beautiful region of Bavaria. Thank you Hotel Bärenstüberl!

Recommend choosing apartments.
Apartments are very spacious! The one in the older wing is decorated so nice! But the one in new wing is very nice also and has 2 full bathrooms.

Good hotel but terrible staff at restaurant.
Hotel was fine and the staff at hotel were fine. Staff at hotel recommended the attached restaurant (part of the hotel) and said it was the best around. Our first attempt at eating was when the older male server rudely refused to seat us outside because he claimed it was going to rain (it didn't). The seating area outside already had at least four other tables full of people out side. We left and drove around town for awhile and when we returned, the same server refused to seat us anywhere. He practically shouted it across the restaurant. When I asked him why, he said they were full (there were at least two clean and open tables. When I explained that we were guest at the hotel, he just shrugged his shoulders as if he didn't care. We complained to the hotel manager the next morning but we're not totally sure if she really cared either.

It worked for a night, but probably won't return.
Pros- staff is welcoming, location is beautiful, hiking nearby, plenty of parking, adequate small room, and great breakfast. Why we won't return- front desk says we put your family in different parts of the hotel: dad and brother in new and us in old. I asked her if there were any differences between the two sides and price, and she quickly answered, "No, they are the same." Our old room- hot, small, hard beds, tiny window, tiny bathroom, Dad's new room- modern, cool, huge bathroom w/ 2 sinks and separate tub & shower, huge bedroom, new beds, entry, etc. Overall, I do not think it was bright to separate our family and expose the massive differences between the new and old building. Unless I could guarantee a new room for all of us, I would not stay here again. It was sufficient for one night, but only one night. So disappointed.

Good view from balcony,good location (4Km to The Konigssee lake) Hotel provided free local bus pass (y) clean rooms,good food at restaurant. There is swimming pool and sauna in hotel (sauna wasn't working at the time we visited) Everything is very good,only needs children play area in hotel and also kettle with tea and coffee and drinking water in rooms would do even better..Love the hotel and location,will come back 100%.

The views from Hotel Bärenstüberl are spectacular.
What can I say about the Hotel Bärenstüberl. From the immediate attention we got while pulling into the driveway to entering the Hotel until we left. The view in front of the hotel is just asking to be photographed and used as your desktop picture. If you are in the area and need a great place to stay, this is it.

Decent country hotel, beautiful rural location
We stayed in this hotel for one night during September, 2015. I would best describe this as a country hotel (one of many in the area), and only a couple of minutes drive from the main roads. The room was basic, but quite agreeable and suited us just fine for our one night stay. The staff were polite and check in was easy. The local scenery is nothing short of spectacular. Based on our experience, I would recommend this hotel for those passing through on our road trip.

Very cozy
Really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Juliann was extremely helpful with information and very pleasant. Food was very good in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner. Good location for the area. The rooms were fine, but no wash cloths provided, and no soap for the sink. Beds were not very comfortable but for a short stay, they were okay. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Owner, Juliana, and the main waitress are all good and helpful people. I like them all. Yet, no fan to expect hot weather for non-air conditioned rooms? Allow people to open doors while they cook inside their rooms and make the whole corridor smell? We did not dare to wide open our window even the room remains very hot till mid-night. There are too many mosquitos, bugs, and other insects in the area. Dinner was great though.

OK stay at the Bärenstüberl
The staff was nice and friendly, and the breakfast was good. Overall the hotel seems a bit old fashioned, but the rooms were OK. The bathroom was very small, but clean. The biggest letdown for us was the location, which was in the middle of a small crossroad. It seemed to be a bus stop right outside, so transportation shouldn't be a problem. It just didn't have the charm from the pictures. Some rooms probably have better views than ours, which was to the back yard and not so interesting surrounding hills. It must be added that we reserved the room just a few hours prior to arriving

Nestled in the Alps
Really nice hotel in the Alps, but there happened to be construction next door which obstructed our balcony view. Also found some similarly priced hotels on the picturesque lake nearby.
