"Our experience here at Sandals Ochi was amazing!! We just came home April 30th 2026 and were there celebrating my husband and I's honeymoon, as well as my birthday and it was the best way to do it! The staff were all so friendly and attentive, if there was an accomi"
"The Good: Most of the staff was helpful and friendly. The reception staff was welcoming and a pleasure to deal with. The greeters who welcomed you for breakfast and at Jasmines were also pleasant. I can't say enough good things about Crazy Legs and Pot of Rice in the entertainment staff :). These people went above and beyond to make sure everyone was having a good time. I wish I got the names or the restaurant staff so that I could give them a proper shoutout.
The Bad: The food just wasn't that good. I chose to go to the Bahia in Jamaica Runaway Bay because the food was so good at the DR location, I thought I would get a good meal here. I did not. There wasn't a large variety, and the food was either at room temperature or cold. Also, most of the people cooking the food acted like you were bothering them. They barely acknowledged your existence when you asked them a question and were not as warm and friendly as the other restaurant staff.
The Ugly: My room was dated.... particularly the bathroom. At first, I thought it wasn't cleaned properly. Then I realized that there was this mold looking substance on both faucets that couldn't be cleaned. I wiped it down with my Lysol wipes and prayed for the best. At the very least, they should remodel the bathrooms. I did not feel good about taking care of my basic hygiene in there and did my best to spend as little time in there as possible. Bahia should do better!"
"Pros - Perfect weather, helpful friendly staff, beautiful hotel and property, perfect amount of walking, lots of lobby seating to relax, wonderful beach with calm sea, abundance of food at the buffet, jerk chicken at the grill is good, tonnes of beach chairs, 5+ pools spread over the property, good evening entertainment, amazing photo staff and reasonable prices, complimentary big bottles of water and fridge drinks, convenient on site parking.
Cons - Buffet and restaurant food was bland, restaurant food was meh, limited food options outside of buffet hours - only jerk chicken, burgers and pizza, beach doesn’t have umbrellas - limited coverage from trees, sports bar had limited tables to watch matches, main elevators 1 out of 2 were out of service, drinks were ok, two pools side by side play different overlapping music, resort doesn’t have a nightclub, but sports bar DJ was good"
"I would never recommend this property. It is dated and worn out. The food was terrible and yet somehow everything tasted the same. We couldn’t even try some of the restaurants on property because they were either closed or no reservations available. The 2 hot tubs we saw were filthy and damaged. Snorkeling from the beach was literally the only redeeming quality for this resort. This experience was so bad that I wouldn’t trust any Couples Resort moving forward. If you are looking for a quiet and romantic experience, this is not the property for you…LOUD music every single night late into the night. The beach was dirty. There really was nothing good about this place aside from what we got to see while snorkeling just beyond the beach area. "
