"I was disappointed with our room assignment since we were on the top floor and very near Fisherman's wharf and downtown. Our room featured a view of the roof right next to us. Called guest services to inquire about changing and they were able to get us in another which featured a partial view, but gave up accessibility features and paid another $50/night for the entire stay. Location was convenient. Rooms were clean and staff was unfailingly pleasant. But very little space to hang or store clothing which is inconvenient if you want to unpack. One small section of the closet had four or five shelves for shoes, but not much else. None of the furniture (night stand, tables or counter tops) had drawers or doors that opened. A little odd . . ."

"Good stay , wish breakfast had more variety but still good. Wish cleaning staff didn't stare in the mornings to see if you are leaving to start cleaning, I don't think they did it with bad intent but felt pressured to get out faster."

"This is an old classic hotel and as such has its charm and a fantastic location. However, it could need some freshening up. The floor carpets are unpleasant looking and there is no AC. Monterey weather allows for keeping windows open, the local seagulls do not. I did appreciate them allowing dogs though."

"Clean and spacious room, excellent staff. Super cool that they make fresh cookies every day 4-6:30pm and also have free sodas and water available downstairs 24/7. Smelling the cookies mid day was intoxicating… Free breakfast too, a valuable perk. I look forward to staying at Gosby House again. My only wish is that Gosby House replaces their “low flow” shower heads with real high pressure shower heads… they were abysmal and made it time consuming to shower, but that is my only critique. We love saving the environment, but those gotta go! Lol. Also, for what it’s worth, I never heard any neighboring rooms while staying there, it seems to be a pretty chill clientele that comes in, I really enjoyed my stay here."

"Check in was amazingly easy. All the decor was beautiful. Rich wood furniture, warm and friendly atmosphere. We went with our two children and stayed in room 100. It was perfect for us, I wish we could have stayed longer."
