"Amazing, quite unique, hotel floating in the middle of a lake with snow capped mountains in the backdrop, picture perfect. BUT that's it. There's really nothing else to do here, as you rely on food SOLEly provided by the hotel and there's no other external sources for food being so remote and the portions are small so pack some snacks, instant noodles. Aims for some fine dining vibe, but the quality is sub-par, may be due to meals being included in the price. The food alone would convince you not to stay any longer. The whole dining system is uncomfortable, you may need to share a table with other guests. You can request to be seated by yourselves but this isn't explicitly offered and it seemed those were limited, and issues the way you get seated, the better seats by the window with the view vs the dull wall, staff guide you to your table and there was a complaint raised by someone on just that issue at the dining hall, very uncomfortable. We were also looking forward to some bike riding but the roads have so many pot holes it was a dreadful ride in even in a car, you're not going out on bikes, not if you're after a pleasant peaceful ride. Same goes for the drive down from Launceston, the road going over the mountain is horrendous, avoid it and go around the lake, that's quite a pleasant drive which we took on the return. Again the place is just amazing, something out of a story book, so definitely one to check off on your bucket list."
