Staff were very good. Check in & out easy. Could do with black tea bags for guests. Only supplied 2 green tea bags, no bottled water. Bathroom a couple of hooks on door for towels would help. No complaints at all just suggestions for a better experience. Not far from station, food and old town.

Comfortable, great location, enjoyable onsen!

Great onsen. No fuss room, however terrific sound proofing. Location is 5 minutes away from the river and old town.

Very nice hotel

Breakfast was included, very good mostly Japanese. Staff very helpful, close to station & walkable to all attractions, good amenities that you just help yourself. Public bath was fantastic, total of 3 in the women part.

This hotel was perfect for our 3-night stay in Takayama: Great location (easy walk from the train and bus stations, close to all the beautiful areas of Takayama, but very peaceful inside) and welcoming and considerate staff. Breakfasts were delicious and the onsens so soothing. Definitely recommend!

The hotel os modern but the bedroom furniture was tired. Room a generous size. Used the roof top onsen indoors and outdoor but the ladies side the glass is opaque so no view. Pjs are outdated and very warm after a hot bath. Great location and loads of parking. Easy walk into town or the station

Great central hotel with top floor onsen baths

Spa Hotel Alpina Hidatakayama is a centrally located, well appointed hotel within central Takyama, close to the stations, the old town and a myriad of temples, shrines and cemeteries. Staff were helpful, kind and accommodating. The top floor baths were a real treat after a long day. The breakfast buffet, at 1600 yen per person, was pretty much what you'd expect, a little uninspired but convenient.

We loved the Sky Spa on the 9th floor! We views from the baths was exquisite and I would come here again for the overall atmosphere of the town of Takayama and stay at this hotel for the Sky Spa, we felt like kings as we had it all to ourselves! The sautéed tofu with Dashi flakes was outstanding at breakfast!

I really enjoyed my stay at this property! It was an easy walk from the train station and an even easier walk to the Old Town. I appreciated their rooftop onsen and they had a lovely breakfast. They even provide a service to have different types of pillows which was very unique. If I find my way back to Takayama, I will stay here again.
