Overall everything was good for a one night stay while traveling. Refurbished older hotel. Low ceilings, tiny bathroom. Breakfast was good. Staff was excellent.

I specifically called to confirm they were On the TransCanada Highway, the guest service person barely must have listened to my question, she giggled and said "We are right On the highway".... not the highway I was asking. They are very far away from the main areas of town with restaurants and other services. Quite remote. When I spoke to complain to the sales manager he said his staff needs to clarify to guests that they are away from the main area right close to the airport, a bit remote. Two area doors to our room stairs were closed/blocked off, it was 11pm at night we couldn't understand where we could park and go in... leaving us to go around and around the building looking for an open entrance! The hotel is old and run down, with subprime upgrades. The value for the quality of this hotel is POOR. Not worth the money spent. Our room had a foul smell not sure if it was cleaning agents or pets or just old and tired. bathroom was tiny, with large tub that had dirty caulking around the tub, and tub did not drain well as well had damage that had been painted over. I mentioned all this to the sales manager who said he would call me back Once he addressed it as the room had been fully renovated. He didn't call me back so I called back twice and finally he answered. He brushed off the smell saying that his cleaning head person went there and there isn't any smell. This a blatant lie. He was unhelpful and didn't care. I was bushed off!

We stayed in a pet room. It was clean. The air from the ac unit smelled awful, like urine. The screen door was broken so we couldn’t leave the patio door open. The breakfast was made to order and very good!

This property is outside of the city and thats the best part. It's under construction according to the sign in the lobby and another sign states no aggressive behavior will be tolerated. Made me think the staff might be aggressive as well. This is a best western, same towles and sheets as the others I've stayed in across the country, but double the price. This is also the first hotel I've stayed at with no microwave, i didn't know i had to check the description for that but i do now.

This place was not worth the money - it would have been okay at a cheaper rate but not at $259. Carpet in hallway has rank smell, room is showing it’s age. However the restaurant was good.

The only disappointing thing was the food for me , I had the open face turkey sandwich, when it came I would’ve assumed a bit of come with something. It was a piece of white bread, three slices of turkey and gravy that’s all that’s on the plate $18 take a little much probably wasn’t more than two dollars worth of items at Macs probably should’ve sent it back but I was hungry from driving 12 hours, the other meals was a club sandwich and she said it was OK and then the other one had a Reuben and said it was OK as well. Also $18 each which we all agreed was expensive. That being said our overall expectation of the hotel was greatly met.

Great front staff! Check in was very smooth. Room was clean, something I look for in every hotel, clean beds, clean bathroom, shower area. Dining area was ok, dated inside the building, patio was nice, but very slow service. The people working there seemed a bit overworked, therefore we waited a long time to be seated and order taken, waitresses just walked by us multiple times without acknowledging us, did not even greet us. A lady who seemed to be the manager took us to a table, had to wait for it to be cleaned, etc. very nice lady. What’s odd is, there was only 7 tables both inside & out, and three waitresses. So it shouldn’t have been this slow. But all and all, we would stay here again.

The hotel is on the outskirts of Thunder Bay..so a bit out in the boonies. It is nice and quiet and the staff is incredible! I have autism, so I have special requests for rooms, and the lady who checked me in took the time to show me 3 different rooms for my service dog and myself. She went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. I appreciate her going the extra mile to accommodate me. The building itself is well maintained both inside and out. The rooms are a bit older, but they’re well maintained. Shower pressure is great!

Great place to stay without leaving a major roadway. Easy to continue the trip next day. I especially love the ability to park outside of your unit’s patio entrance. Especially good when travelling with pets.

Great staff, full amenities including fitness centre, pool and hot tub. Didn't get a chance to use the sauna. Breakfast was served by fast and friendly staff. Super attentive front desk. Full marks.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The price of the room did not match the quality of the sleeping arrangements. The pool was average and the hot tub needs updating.

I thought I was getting 2 queens. The beds we got my husband and I barely fit. It was a terrible nights sleep. I would stay again but not for that price for that size of bed. The view is t worth the bad sleep
