"Beautiful views off our balcony! The staff was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, valet, bell, front desk, bar/restaurant, maids, everyone was wonderful. My only complaint was that I missed some of the Christmas decor they did in the past. We also tried to hit the bar, but they didn’t open until 5pm both Friday and Saturday nights. We found lots of places nearby though. Had an amazing dinner at Hog Island right across the street. Really had a great trip!"

"This is such a lovely hotel. Definitely will be staying there any time I'm in San Francisco. I saw some reviews that the rooms were small, but for one person they are more than ample. The closet was bigger than the one I have at home. :0) Everything a person could want is near the hotel, including stepping out the door and being 50 feet from Union Square. "

"Really enjoyed staying at the Mayflower. I am the type of traveler that just needs a place to sleep and use as a base while exploring. Yes, the hotel is dated, but I would say "vintage" instead. It is clean and the staff are kind and helpful. I loved operating the vintage elevators. If you are expecting all luxury hotel amenities at the value rates that this place charges, don't book. If you want a clean, quiet, well located hotel for an great rate in SF, this is your place. My standard queen room had a fridge and microwave, and some basic dishes and utensils. No in room coffee. They have coffee and a basic continental breakfast dining room off the lobby. The store nextdoor has everything you could need. Oh, and had a walk in closet. Don't see that....ever."
