"We loved our stay! Our room was CLEAN and was big enough for my wife and I, as well as large enough for our near-2 year old son to run around in. We enjoyed our patio and big tub/shower! Also, the continental breakfast was fantastic!!! Fresh make-your-own waffles (with different flavored batters), instant oatmeal, hot coffee and water, hot cocoa packets and tea bags, and individually wrapped pastries (Hostess donettes, danishes, cinnamon rolls, etc.), juices, water, and fresh fruit were all available! The staff, both day & night, were very pleasant, professional, and available for any of our needs! The location was perfect for our trip, as we were in town to attend a family wedding. The drive was not too far away for a day in Monterey where we took our son to the aquarium (MUST VISIT!) and had a late lunch. Also, just out the back entry is the main road/street to the little downtown area and a block/block-and-a-half away from the mission!
We will definitely stay here again!"
"This hotel has a cool retro-Spanish theme. There's a vineyard and olive trees in the courtyard. There's also a cozy fire pit shielded from the wind that Cathy at the front desk kindly lit for us. The 156 is a major road, but there is a signal light and pedestrian crossing. From there, it's a short walk along the Alameda to the historic part of town. There are artisan shops, restaurants, the old mission, a grocery store, and a coffee roaster. The coffee roaster also serves food and beer. In the other direction, you can drive up Fremont peak. There's a state park at the top with camping and views overlooking Salinas. It's about a one-hour drive to Pinnacles National Park. This hotel is set up as a venue for weddings and similar gatherings. There wasn't anything like that going on during our stay. The neighboring property has goats and chickens. The bathroom window effectively blocked the sound, and it was noticeable but not disturbing with the window open. "
