"Great stay, the only drawback was the trash in the ocean. It was not every day the same, depending on waves and current, but that was to be expected in Bali. There was a fisherman sitting the whole day in front of the beach, doing nothing and trying to sell snorkeling trips. They should have paid him some money to cleanup daily. We've heared they do weekly cleanup tours, but that's just not enough. Anyway, everything else was just great :)"

"We loved our stay at the Griya Villas and spas. We had one of the deluxe villas with a private pool and ocean view. The view is spectacular. It's like 2 villas with a courtyard. The living room / kitchen villa is so relaxing. The common areas of the hotel are also very nice and clean. The pool is very beautiful. It was very quiet when we were there, which made the stay very enjoyable. The spa therapists are very good and the spa offer is great. Watch out if you take the yoga classes. Make sure to tell the teacher not to touch you. He adjusted my husband without asking him and caused a big contracture to his back, which really made the end of our stay not so pleasant. Make also sure to ask about the hotel complimentary shuttle to go to Amed. It runs a few times every day. Amed has basically a taxi cartel where they harrass Grab drivers if they're in the area so they can keep charging tourists 100,000 IDR (10 AUD) for a 5 minute drive. I highly recommend renting a scooter when you're there. Overall I think it's the nicest hotel to stay at when you're in Amed. Highly recommend it. "

"The staff is so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The most friendly people. This was my first trip to an asian country, they helped me rent a scooter and then a car when I found out driving a scooter is terrifying. Any questions we had they helped us out as soon as possible to the best of their knowledge. Incredibly professional. Rooms are huge, there’s multiple pools for use on the property, the beach is literally right there, about a 15 second walk from the restaurant. Great of all ages, families with kids, teens and young adults, and retirees. Highly recommended this place!"

"Clean, relaxing stay at Alila Manggis. Different experience staying so close to the sea. At night, I could hear the strong waves crashing onto the breakwater fronting the resort. Service staff was impeccable - they tidied our room twice in a day! I think they also made it a point to know the names of guests and the room they stay. The only little hiccup was that our booking came with breakfast included. However, upon check-in, and at both mornings that we went for breakfast, we were informed we didn't have breakfast included. After explaining that we had, they checked and promptly resumed their service without further probing. Some miscommunication there, perhaps, but it would have been good if this didn't happen. Walk out to the warungs and spa just outside of the resort for more authentic local food and massage though (at a fraction of the price in the resort too). "
