"Enjoyed our stay, food was decent pub grub nothing spectacular but decent enough. Was told by bar girl I couldnโ€™t start a tab (even though I showed my room key) but our friends did? Had to ask to be served at the bar as was not acknowledged by 3 staff behind the bar. Customer service definitely needs improvement."

"Amazing setting and beautifully kitted out rooms. Breakfast was lovely (though buffet elements could have been topped up as we went in the last half hour so some things were running low, including plates!). Loved the bar - fab cocktails - and the restaurant, though was very pricey."

The Esplanade Hotel

8/10 Good
"The only criticism I have was the cove restaurant was over priced and the service was slow and we asked for a dessert menu and waited about 45 minutes other people with babies were serviced before us we felt ignored by the staff and then to add service charge of ยฃ8.10 was a really bad when there really was no service at all My husband and I were on the 2nd floor and he couldnโ€™t manage all the steps so they did move us to the 1st floor however our room was tiny but I couldnโ€™t ask them to move us again so we stuck with it but would have preferred a bigger room when your paying ยฃ150 a night the swimming pool was lovely I think when you have teenagers maybe they need to have things for them to do to like mocktail making or movies for teens or arts and crafts for them etc"
