The Crown Manor House Hotel
8/10 Good
"Good location, beautiful building. Car park access was not great - challenging to negotiate with tight spaces (in limited numbers) and overhanging trees meant lots of crap falling on cars in even the slightest breeze. Breakfast was nice quality though limited in choices. Lyndhurst is pleasant and well served for quality places to eat (lunch, dinner and coffee/tray bakes). All in all, a nice base for exploring the New Forest."

"Beautifully and recently renovated property with luxurious rooms, loads of nice details and small touches. Breakfast was good, dinner a bit hit and miss. Interesting menu and generally tasty but at ยฃ95 for two (without alcohol) it didnโt always meet expectations and a couple of dishes were a let down. Would happily revisit the chain for bed and breakfast."
Woodlands Lodge Hotel

"Lovely setting and great value, but room maintenance needs attention โThis was our third stay at Woodlands Lodge, and its location remains unbeatable. Set right in the heart of the New Forest, the back gate leads directly into the woodland, making it fantastic for exploring and accessing local cycle trails. The on-site bar and restaurant are great, and the staff are consistently friendly and helpful. โThe value for money is exceptionalโjust over ยฃ400 for a four-night summer holiday stay for two people is incredible for this area. โHowever, a couple of issues impacted our stay. This was the second time out of three visits where we ended up with a very poor mattress. It was uncomfortable enough that I couldn't sleep, and we had to request a room change. Luckily, they had availability, but had the hotel been fully booked, it would have meant a week of terrible sleep. โRoom amenities also need some attention. The shower barely workedโwhile the water eventually got hot, it took a long time to warm up and the pump struggled significantly throughout our stay. โAll in all, Woodlands Lodge is still a lovely place to stay, but updating the mattresses and sorting out the plumbing issues would make it fantastic."

"Lovely, spotless room. Staff always polite and willing to help. The breakfast was excellent. We had lunch at the hotel also, which was very good, I have some dietary issues and the staff/kitchen were more than happy to adapt my chosen dish for me. Plenty of room to park avoiding having to find a parking space which could be a long distance from the hotel, which is particularly important for us due to issues a member of our party has with walking long distances. A lovely view of the river and Salisbury Cathedral from the balcony leading off the bar/restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"Atmospheric inn located near the marketplace and high street shopping. Very helpful staff. The historic inn is very well maintained but halls are narrow and floors uneven reflecting its age. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom is fine but basic and unfortunately the fixed showerhead is poorly situated unless you are very tall. An added handheld option for flexibility would be much better. There is a nice bar but no dinner service, although solid options are close by. All in all I enjoyed my overnight stay."

"My third time staying at this hotel and I canโt fault it again. The room was lovely and the perfect size just for me. If I was taller I would have said the shower was a bit in the short side but at 5โ7 it was perfect. The air con was also a god send in the heatwave"
