"All the Staff were superb - bar staff knew their cocktails! Reception staff also excellent … gentleman and a sense of humour! Restaurant staff efficient and food delicious at breakfast and dinner. I recommend the eggs florentine at breakfast - then the risotto or the trout ! Rooms were fab - loved the decor and drinks. Great touch’s with the sloe gin, water, the best tea & coffee too. The cow shed for the bathroom I very much liked. Nice sheets and bedding - all comfy and good quality. My only recommendations would be for my room only - as my mum’s room was fine -is to give some tlc to the shower grout, room skirtings, window blinds. Other than that I had an excellent stay."

"I enjoyed my stay here. Decent sized car park attached to the hotel, free for guests. The hotel is right in the centre of town and there's a great Nepalese restaurant a few doors along plus a good choice of High Street / Town Centre pubs. My room was beside the main road (the old A4 through the centre of Newbury) but I had no disturbance at all on having a lie-in on a Saturday morning, despite the single glazing. Would definitely stay again."

"We had two rooms, one the hands towel had marks on it and the drain in the shower in the other was slow to drain. But... It is in fabulous condition, immaculately clean and the staff were lovely. Food in the restaurant was fab."
