This was our fourth stay at the Wyndham in Xi'an. The service was great and the concierge was especially friendly and helpful. It's a beautiful hotel and very convenient to the sights of Xi'an. The only complaint we had was our dinner at Tang. My meal came much earlier than my husband's. In fact, I was finished eating by the time his arrived.

Wow... what can we say. We arrived with 2 weary children (8 & 10) after a 5 hour train journey from Beijing and then a 50 minute taxi ride. The hotel couldn't have been more helpful. We arrived at our sumptuous room with bunk beds that the kids adored, and were told that the children could participate in free activities including calligraphy, paper cutting, magic drawing, and learn about the tradition of Chinese tea ceremony at a time of our convenience. The children enjoyed their time with Bella Chang so much they didn't want to leave as she was so patient and attentive. The children kept telling us the experience was unforgettable. During lunchtime we walked the 5 minutes through the pedestrian area to the intime shopping area ( level 3) to enjoy authentic Xi'an food (袁家村)。 The next day after a full day of terracotta warriors, temples and pagodas, the Children were tired but were so keen to do the tea making and calligraphy again that they asked reception and the amazing Angel Zhong this time worked with the kids and they loved every part again. Later we were delighted to be invited to the VIP lounge on level 8 which we all loved. The variety of food available was not only visually pleasing but also delicious. Great view, relaxing music, attentive staff, can't asked for a better way to unwind. Angel came and presented the kids with amazing gifts (we were speechless) and made us feel so welcome by telling us about history, life and culture of Xian. We just casually to

The rooms are huge and luxurious. The bed is so comfortable. When I told the staff that the airconditoning temperature was too high and couldn’t be adjusted, they fixed it immediately. The restaurant staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is an oasis within a hot and dusty city.

Amazing hotel with great value!
This was an alexcrotiibslly comfortable hotel with s very responsive staff! Arriving about midnight, I was warmly welcomed and upgraded from my reserved room to a suite! It was beautiful with very clean and well appointed bathroom, comfortable working spaces, and extraordinarily comfortable bed with high quality linens. I didn’t have breakfast at the hotel so I can’t speak to the food and beverage services, but what amazed me was how the service team had thought about every place I might want to have a bottle of water, and there was a bottle there for me! Stacey, the Guest Services Manager, was very pleasant, and I can understand if she’s training the other service staff members, that they are all excellent. The internet worked great the entire time I was there, and the hotel is a short, ten minute walk to the Tang Paradise park and even closer to shopping of different types, if you are interested, so it provides some good fresh air walks as well in the direct vicinity of the hotel. I can’t wait to stay here longer as it really was a beautiful property, and it made being on a business trip a far more enjoyable experience!

Couldn't Have Been Better
This was our second stay at the Wyndham Grand Xian South and both times the staff and the hotel could not have been more perfect. Mr. Kahlifa and Eva took personal care to make sure our stay was wonderful. The staff was professional, friendly and could not have treated us any better. Our room was wonderful There are many beautiful hotels in Xian but for my money, this is where I'll be staying whenever I visit Xian.

Fabulous hotel!
This was one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. The staff were terrific, the room was delightful, the location was great--overall it was a wonderful stay. The only hiccup was access to the pool, which was in the residence next door, rather than in the hotel. The people there were not friendly and wouldn't give us towels, and the pool itself was a disappointment: it was cold and the smaller pool, which looked like a hot tub, was just another cold pool. But that was a tiny flaw in an otherwise perfect stay.

luxurious hotel in a great location
A fancy, comfortable hotel in a very nice, convenient part of the city. We were upgraded to a very nice room with a open view. We were very glad we stayed here because it was away from the very crowded noisy part of the city, and yet it was very close to all the interesting sites. We chose not to have buffet breakfast or dinner. Dishes from the A la carte menu was very nice and reasonably priced. The room had a fantastice handyfor free and it downloaded gmails without any difficulty. Overall staying at this hotel, paying a little extra was well worth it, and visit became more comfortable in this very crowded city.

This hotel went way above my expectations! 1. The staff is the best. So welcoming and helpful. We were on a first name basis with them. This was especially important since we don't speak any Chinese. We lost an item and they called several places for us to try to locate it. Then we had a problem where we couldn't get back to the hotel and the staff took care of packing up our luggage and holding it until we could pick it up. The concierge is staffed 24 hours! 2. The room is extremely spacious and well-appointed. We had floor to ceiling windows with a view of the brightly decorated street mall area. The windows are very sound dampening and the blackout curtains work well. The staff brought in an air purifier without our even requesting it, 3. Location is terrific. We could walk to shops and restaurants and to the Goose Pagoda to see the nightly light show. It seems very safe at night, people were walking around and dancing until 9 or 10 at night.

Lovely Stay at Xi’an (beware of taxi at concierge)
We stayed for 5 days at Wyndham Grand, it was awesome! Loved the location and friendliness of all the staff. When we arrived, we were upgraded to a better room With complimentary breakfast buffet and happy hour snack bar. The hotel staffs were very helpful with giving us tips around the city. Just beware of their taxi service. They have designated taxi drivers that they will always call and they are more expensive. We visited the terracotta warriors via hotel taxi and the taxi driver refuse to use the meter and told us it was 500RMB with toll fees... We were able to bargain it down to 350RMB but did not feel comfortable with him whatsoever. On our way there he also picked up his son since we were “going the same direction”. It was a terrible experience. Then the following day, we went to Hua Shan via hotel taxi and this time the guy said it was 1200RMB with toll fees... Again, we bargained down to 1000RMB. When we checked with the locals here outside of our hotel, taxi drivers said that it should only cost 600-800RMB to go Hua Shan max. They know you are staying at a nice hotel, so they don’t feel bad ripping you off.

Breakfast had amazing variety. Hotel was huge, easy to get turned around on sleeping room floors as each corridor looked very similar. WiFi was problematic - good when it worked but didn't always work, had many disconnects and periods of unavailability. English speaking staff were available, sort of but it was China. Kept very clean and meeting rooms seemed spacious. Recommend having adapters for devices to be plugged in, especially if they have grounded plugs. Immediate area of hotel was very new, some interesting LED displays in park, shopping mall with 4th floor restaurant area and other restaurants within few (long) blocks. Price seemed very reasonable for accommodations.

Gorgeous hotel with impeccable service!
We had a short stay at this hotel and wished we were there for longer! The service was amazing and the room was delightful. We were on the club level and had breakfast in the club, where Mukesh, the chef, was extraordinary (as was the rest of the staff at the club). Truly, one of the best hotels in the world!

Super accommodating and luxurious stay
We had a wonderful stay at the Wyndham Grand South. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a suite since we were a family of three sharing. The room was beautiful with a huge amount of space, luxurious bathroom and wardrobe etc, and the bed extremely comfortable. we enjoyed use of the club lounge too which was very peaceful. The pool and gym were a real plus, very clean with all equipment you would need and the concierge made every effort to help us plan our site seeing activities. We thoroughly enjoyed the Banpo site before seeing the Terracotta Warriors which we would not have visited were it not for the hotel recommendation. The staff were really very helpful and friendly the best we have experienced in our travels of china. Many thanks for a wonderful stay!

Excellent hotel with the highest of standards with genuinely friendly staff. Our room was large as was the bathroom and had the wow factor. Public areas were really well decorated too. Location wise was good as could easily and safely walk to local malls and giant goose pagoda which has shops and restaurants about too. Quality of food in tang buffet restuarant in hotel very high too. Being a westerner there was plenty of choice for us and for a fussy teenager. I would definitely stay here again if I came back to xi'an. Xi'an is a huge city (wyndham grand south xi'an) but if you get a cab downtown to the bell town it only cost us 20 yuan for the 30 mins trip. Local area around the hotel felt a little touristy vs downtown but it was a lovely area to be. Kind of safe and sanitised. Big thumbs up from us including a moody teenager.

Would have given this hotel 5 stars across but a couple of things stood in the way. #1: there is only 1 electrical outlet in the bathroom and to makes matters worse, it is labelled for shavers only. This hotel is only 3 years old - what were the architects thinking? The only place with a mirror and a place to put a hot curling iron (on top of a metal safe) and a hair dryer are in the walk in closet! (yes, that is what I had to do!). #2: there was a beer bottle cap on room carpeting when we checked in and was never picked up by housekeeping throughout our 3 day stay there. Those are the minuses. Pluses: I could go on and on!!! This place is beautiful. Lots of granite and beautiful marble throughout. Simply elegant looking lobby, halls, elevators and rooms. Nice touches of Chinese style art and decorating pieces throughout including a reproduction piece of terracotta warrior in the lobby, gorgeous tea room (check out the beautifully decorated red accent walls) and a couple of rickshaws (photo ops!) Service is one of the best we've encountered in China. Bell boys are simply superb as are the front desk and concierge services. Food service manager bent over backwards to make our dining experience one of the best in Xi'an. He even prepared breakfast goodie bags (fruit and pastries) for us when we were checking out early in the morning.
