"Excellent resort, staff were amazing and food was fantastic. Rooms are huge and well maintained. Cabana rental worth the $100. Only downside would be the beach, very small and shallow. Seaweed was an issue during our stay, but to no fault of the Hotel. Staff and locals raking all day to no avail."

"I want to start by saying that this review has nothing to do with the staff, every single person we encountered was amazing, kind, and attentive. A special thank you to the team at the Katok restaurant in the Akumal resort, especially Oliva, Obdulia, Francisca, the chef who came out to greet us, and the captain waiter. Their service truly stood out and made us feel very welcome. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply affected by the food. During my stay, I got food poisoning twice, and the last time was extremely severe. I experienced fever, vomiting, chills, and diarrhea. I am still recovering from it. It was honestly very difficult to travel back home in that condition. I had a fever while flying and could not keep any food down due to how upset my stomach was. This was very disappointing, especially because everything else, particularly the staff, was so wonderful. I hope the resort takes this feedback seriously and reviews their food safety standards so that future guests do not go through the same experience. "

"This was our 5th consecutive year visiting this resort. The staff here is amazing and really makes the difference for us when choosing our annual vacation destination. We have so many to thank. Juana and team for maintaining our room perfectly, Daniel and team for their gracious assistance in the pool and beach areas, Yolasef and Esperenza for the amazing spa experiences, Daniela and Joseph from Guest Services for their excellent support and daily kind wishes, the fabulous restaurant chefs and front end staff Quetzabel, Angeles, Sandy, Ana, Juan, Carmen, Carlos and their teams for their usual above and beyond service, Ezequiel and the Front Desk team for their amazing support and professional care, the Porters, Servers and incredible Bartenders who blessed us with perfect Margaritas every time, Gracias to all. "Disappointed with Grand Princess Riviera/Sunset. Our flight was canceled, causing us to arrive a day late. We got to the resort around 1 AM, had to carry our own luggage up two flights of stairs, and were told an extra night would cost 3 times as much. Staff acted like rooms weren’t available, even though the resort was empty and under construction. We were denied both a refund and the ability to shift our dates. Guests shouldn’t have to cover costs caused by circumstances beyond their control. Hoping for a fair resolution. "
