"My girlfriend (friend/colleague/travel buddy) and I stayed at Hotel Mereva during the off-season and absolutely loved it. The hospitality was next level—Erik and Dalia at the front desk were always kind, helpful, and made getting around super easy. The staff, including Felipe, Aaron, Luis, Santos, and Gabriel, were so genuine and warm—it felt like being among friends. The food was unreal. Shrimp tacos, forest pizza, and the heirloom tomato with burrata were top tier. Happy hour had the best 2-for-1 margaritas of the trip. We did the breakfast package too—great options and a perfect start to each day. The property itself is peaceful and beautifully maintained. Two pools, hammocks on the dock, ocean nets to lounge on, plus a plunge pool in our room. Everything worked well—AC, water, all of it. Housekeeping was thoughtful with creative towel animals left daily. We wished we had two more days just to slow down, explore the small nearby town, and take advantage of the kayaks, paddle boards, and bikes included in the stay. Taxis are pricey, but the collectivo bus is easy and cheap if you’re up for a little adventure. Even with off-season rain, it never took away from the experience. Highly recommend for anyone wanting great service, good food, and total relaxation."

"This place is AMAZING! We got moved to their sister hotel called Mereva and got upgraded rooms because something was under construction in Alea and it was so kind of them. They greeted us with a smile and took our luggage’s to our rooms, and we had ALOT of heavy big luggage’s. Jose Luis, Oscar, Felipe, Jose, and Luis were all so kind and we all loved having conversations with them each breakfast and dinner. They were the highlight of my stay here. They made all of our times there so memorable. They always knew my friend wanted a margarita when she came back to the hotel and they were always ready to greet us with 2 for sunset hour. They are bilingual and spoke English and Spanish to us. They have cleaning ladies and they made towel animals! They were so cute and impressive! The rooms are so spacious and beautiful. I love their aesthetic. There are pools in the room balconies and a big pool in the middle of the hotel. They are also close everything we went to. I could go on for hours about this place and how great it was. We are all so sad to leave and the crew became our friends. I will definitely be coming back. "

"We had such a wonderful, personal, and unforgettable experience at this hotel. From the moment my sisters and I arrived, we were warmly welcomed in the lobby. Despite our last-minute request, the staff graciously accommodated us for the temazcal experience — something we will never forget. Pedro, the hotel manager, went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly for us. He worked hard to fit us into the temazcal ceremony and helped coordinate taxis for our last-minute requests. His kindness and effort made a big difference in our stay. Our shaman, Miguel, was incredibly thoughtful and made us feel safe and supported throughout the entire ceremony. He took his time to explain the process and guided us through a deeply spiritual and healing journey. A highlight of our stay was the food. Chef Adam E. curated and prepared the most delicious meals for us on both nights. He even came to our table to share how each dish was made, adding such a personal and thoughtful touch to our dining experience. We also loved staying in the bungalow — a magical setting where we could see fireflies dancing around the room through the glass walls. Surrounded by jungle sounds and nature, it truly felt like an escape into a serene, hidden paradise. This trip was special in every way, and we’re so grateful for the memories we made here."

"What a relaxing vacation, with the Caribbean Sea just outside our door and a swimmable cenote 100 feet away. Our room was impeccably clean and our host and his staff were amazingly attentive. They can arrange lots of activities, including snorkeling and diving trips or transportation to the ruins, town or other activities. The food and drink at the outdoor restaurant was awesome. The live music they have every Sunday was our favorite!"
