This is an ideal place to stay especially as a solo female traveller. Run by lovely staff the location is fantastic and in easy reach of everything at Candi Dasa. The food in the restaurant is well priced and offers great Indonesian food that is consistently good. I would definately stay again.
A bright cheerful room with lovely decor. Our fan room had a very big bed and sea views with a large balcony overlooking the garden. The staff are friendly and the place is very clean.
The room is good with this very low price. Staff are nice. Located near the beach which is relaxing. Not many shops and restaurant nearby, but you can get essential stuffs from the convenient stores along the street.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Not the best quality/price in the area ;-)
We took the budget room which was clean and ok for 1 night. Pretty noisy outside (between the waves and the busy road) and the restaurant was pretty expensive (+ taxes !) so we took the breakfast outside. They don't allow you to bring drinks or food from outside (and it's written at the entry) so doesn't feel like "friendly" place. Most of the time hotels don't care about this.. To be honest you can find much better for a cheaper price at the end (if you take a 10Aus $ more expensive room where breakfast is included, it's cheaper than paying the breakfast there and you can have a better room) that's why we moved after 1 night :-)
We had a great time but there are afew places where they can improve. They really need a bathroom down buy the ocean side instead of outside shower. They also need a better cook but the restaurant across the street was handy and good. I can't complain about the service and the friendly staff. Our cottage didn't have hot water but that didn't stop me from having3showers a day it was refreshing. All in all it was a good place to stay for the price.
I have been travelling for a few months and this hotel was the cheapest place that I have stayed and one of the nicest. The amenities are quite simple (no fridge) but the hotel is directly on the water and surprisingly tranquil considering it is on a main road. The breakfast is fantastic.
The Tempel Cafe was a perfekt and wonderful accommondation. During you fell asleep you can hear the sea because it's 10 meters away. The stuff was more than perfekt and helped us to plan tours and getting to our next point.
I don’t know, how you others think this, but my opinion is that if one is in accommodation business, he/she has two duties to fill. The first one is to provide place to sleep and the other one is decent place to wash up. Everything else comes after these two. The first one was clean and it served its mission, but the latter one was poor. To begin with COLD SHOWER! It doesn’t belong to accommodation business. EVER! Even if we speak budget room! No! That’s it! Secondly, it doesn’t take much to put a door to bathroom.
Generally speaking the hotel was nice and he location on the beach is amazing. Only the traffic noise sometimes bothered, but it wasn’t big thing. Staff was very nice and helpful. Location also very close to German bakery which provides amazing breakfast with reasonable rates.
I have been passing through Candidasa since the 1980s, stayed in a few upmarket places, but how could I have missed this little gem. I highly recommend it even for the 5 star aspirants. It's low profile but the the chalets are very clean and well maintained, well manicured gardens and right on the ocean front- so you don't need a pool. Its right opposite the upmarket Watergarden Resort Resort and surrounded by lots of eateries and warungs.
Best thing is you don't get hassled here by hawkers et al and the staff are young and sweet.
The owner, Shirl, an Ozzie, runs a tight ship and its no nonsense at this place and so you feel quite secure.
Shirl makes the best jams too btw. I recommend the lime marmalade lah!!
Sorry for the rave but definately not a ramp up here. But I highly recommend this place.
