"Overall was very pleased with our 2 night stay. The room was a bit too warm for us even although the window was open, so maybe the addition of a fan would be a consideration. Also the very excellent shower could have benefitted from a slightly deeper shower tray. The bathroom floor was a bit flooded and it if it hadn’t been for the shower mat, the consequences could have been worse. Saying that, the room was very clean, extremely well stocked with bathroom accessories , tea/coffee etc sachets,...

"Our second stay here - we love this B&B! David is very friendly and cooks an awesome breakfast. Easy to get to from airport and easy to jump on bus #44 to head into the city. Highly recommended!"

"The room was spacious and clean. The porter Ricky was very helpful and friendly. He gave us some great tips on places to viait and eat. The location was great. The only negative ia that it's a 3 story walk up without an elevator. We would stay here again. "

"Reception was great. And very accommodating. Just needs a little sprucing up. New beds and pillows and carpet would be lovely. We needed a place to stay for 1 night and it fit that purpose. I left my electric toothbrush there and was able to retrieve it the next day. Very much appreciated. "

"Beautiful old building. Great area. Rooms were quite nice and clean. Just no staff were ever present in our three night stay. An elderly couple who couldn’t speak English sat in the front lobby, often. I’m not sure if they worked there cleaning rooms or were a guest but if the worked there they made no attempt to communicate or help out, which was an issue because the front door to the building on a busy street was always left open"

"The room was cozy and comfortable. The staff was very nice and friendly and there was a nice selection of snacks and breakfast items in our room. Dinner in the restaurant was very good and the bar was good too. Our only complaint was that there was no WIFI for our entire stay which made it difficult for planning some activities due to the fact everything is booked online these days. "

"I like the location. The bus is just next to the house. The responsable gave us some information about the famous attractions in Edinburgh. He has a dog called Tom. He's very friendly. It was the first time i wasn't scared of a dog. I noticed just that the room isn't warm enough. But in general i liked the experience"

"James and Angela were just perfect!!! The cottage was cozy and close to a few Outlander locations which was a big deal to us. Conveniently close to great dining options as well!!! "

Clean and quiet, away from the bustle. of the city but close enough to easily access Edinburgh as well as walking distance to the village of East Calder with restaurants and pubs. "We had an amazing stay from start to finish. Ian gave us a tour if the castle along with a history. The rooms were cozy, the bed was very comfortable. The owners even gave us a ride to the tram when we were unable to find a taxi. Sue and Ian are a friendly helpful couple. "
