"Beautiful cultural experience. Having your own onsen and choice of the public onsen was very nice. We did not think the seiki breakfasts and dinner were worth the astoundingly expensive price. I would next time not book the meals, exorbitant cost at nearly $300 each time"

"Staying here was one of the highlights of our entire trip. The view from our bedroom was absolutely stunning - I miss it already. The giant windows made for such a special place experience. If you can afford the river facing rooms, it is an absolute must. The view of the stars at night, especially through the provided binoculars, was breathtaking. "Affordable place to stay in Matsumoto. Walkable distance from Matsumoto castle. Breakfast is good."

"Beautiful property right along the river with incredible service. The staff are very attentive and spoke fantastic english. Very nice, spacious rooms. We got to see the fire lighting ritual and had an amazing dinner. The only downside was the price of the dinner, it is not a cheap meal so make sure to check that it fits within your budget before ordering."

Charming city

"Very nice hotel with welcoming touch. Service at the desk was really nice, we enjoyed the complimentary drink. Huge breakfast selection. Well situated to walk around the city. Matsumoto is a charming city with great vibe. Should have stayed one more day."

"Good stay at the hotel. The Japanese rooms were amazing and we had a great vegetarian kaiseki dinner and really enjoyed the onsens. Would defintely recommend staying at this hotel. Only issue is transport to the location is a bit difficult if you don't have a car. We were aware of this and messaged ahead to ask about the availability of the hotel shuttle bus to the bus stop for our departure. Unfortunately, when we arrived the receptionist was unaware they had a shuttle bus and was very unwilling to check the information we were given or even help us sort out alternative travel. It led to a bit of a concerning situation for our travel plans before another staff memeber corrected her and arranged our transport."
