Adirondack Retreat Inn & Suites

"We had a fantastic stay at Adirondack Retreat Inn & Suites and were really impressed with how much you get for the price. We rented one of their Deluxe Three Bedroom Houses, and at only $275 per night, it was an incredible value for a large family or group. The location is hard to beat. We were just a short walk from all the restaurants, shops and attractions along Canada Street, so once we arrived, we really didnโt need the car to enjoy downtown Lake George. Our house had three bedrooms, two bathrooms and plenty of room to spread out, with two queen beds and three double beds. The full kitchen was actually a FULL kitchen โ pots, pans, dishes, silverware and everything you would need to cook a meal rather than just a microwave and mini fridge pretending to be a kitchen. Upstairs was probably our favorite part of the house. The bathroom had a beautiful Jacuzzi tub, and one of the bedrooms had its own private balcony with chairs and a small table. It was the perfect spot to sit outside and take in the incredible views of the mountains surrounding Lake George. The amenities around the property were another pleasant surprise. The enclosed heated pool is open year-round, stays open until 10 p.m. and was a perfect 86 degrees during our stay. Thereโs also a beautiful fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs, and they even provide bundles of firewood for guests at no charge โ such a nice touch."

"The place meets minimal expectations. Primarily the room and bed were clean, which is what I needed most. The rest of the building is old (probably built in the '70's) so it shows its age in places. The hallway carpeting on the 2nd floor was pretty stained-up; could use a good shampooing. Not sure how other floors looked. Inside the room there were chips in the bathtub finish and on the floor tile, just due to being old but still usable. Ottoman had shoe stains on it. Otherwise, the room was clean so that's most important. The thing that bothered me most is the room's flooring was fake hardwood. Wasn't most pleasant to step on a cold floor in the morning. Plus I'm sure that fake hardwood doesn't help muffle noises from other rooms. No other guests were obnoxiously loud but I did wake up to my neighbor getting up/scuffling around his-or-her room at 4AM. I'm sure that noise would've been significantly less IF our rooms had carpet in them. But the fake hardwood was clean and dust-free so that's most important! Breakfast was good - scrambled eggs, sausage, muffins, cereals (I had raisin bran), apples, toast, bagles, orange/apple juice dispenser, lemon water, coffee...enough choices to get your day started. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I only contacted them for check-in, later when I couldn't remember my room number, another time when my room card quit working, and check-out; all positive interactions. In all, not the Four Seasons, but worth crashing at for a weekend."
