"I stayed at Conrad Dubai during the conflict in the Gulf. In terms of the hotel itself, there were many amenities and the cleanliness was truly excellent. The facilities were well maintained and overall the hotel looks very impressive.
Breakfast also looked impressive at first glance because of the wide selection. However, the quality of some items was disappointing. For example, the sushi and cold cuts were of rather poor quality and had almost no taste. The eggs were also quite bland.
The reception staff were average and not particularly helpful. The biggest issue, however, was related to the situation during the Gulf conflict. The Dubai government had announced that hotel prices would not increase during this period. Despite this, after speaking with the reception staff, I was told that prices would in fact increase from day to day.
Considering that we were in a very difficult situation and did not know when we would be able to leave the country, it was disappointing that nobody at the hotel made any effort to assist us or offer any kind of support. A bit of understanding and help from the staff would have made a big difference.
Overall, while the hotel itself is clean and well equipped, the food quality and especially the lack of support from the staff during a stressful situation left a negative impression."
"Good shopping Nesto super market with a department store and parking. The hotel was a calming place during a stressful time with excellent staff in reception Yeon and Jan. We had half board and we were catered for very well for breakfast the staff for the evening meal went above and beyond. We stayed in room 419 the cleaners always made sure our room was spotless and checked if we needed anything. Nothing was too much trouble even when checking out to go to the airport they promised us they to keep our if it was needed due many fight cancelations.
"
"It is fine, to sleep only, nothing fancy or special. What is not good is that by booking through Expedia, Marriott does not asign reward points. Not nice."
