It’s an older property, so fixtures and such are out of date, however the staff are so lovely and helpful—for the price and location, great budget hotel, would for sure stay again!

The staff were great. The breakfast was very nice with delicious expresso ( two machines) and the best cheesecake I'd had all trip! The gentleman overseeing it was super kind and friendly. The problem was lack of hot water in the shower. It was lukewarm at best with only the 'hot' tap on. I Iet it run awhile to see if that would help but that seemed wasteful and it made no difference. Both days I felt chilled after my shower. For this reason, I may not return again.

A friendly, traditional little Portuguese hotel right in the centre of beautiful Lagos but up a quiet side street. Within walking distance of loads of restaurants, the train & bus stations, the Marina and the beaches. Can’t ask for much more?? Very friendly staff and good (comfortable) value. Would definitely return!

It was few steos away from the centre, but away from the crowd. The b'fast was very good. Reception was very friendly and helpful. The most important factor for me was they having an elevator to the floors. Many places in Portugal i had to climb 3 stories sometimes. Although I had only a hand luggage, it becomes a problem, when you have to climb stairs after travelling around.

Value for money
Rooms are very basic but relative to the price it was very value for money. The breakfast was great as we came with no expectations and we find big selection of food, fresh and tasty.

This is perfect for someone who appreciates a property redolent of an earlier age. You'll love the wood accents. Our stay was perfect, would stay again.

Enjoyed my stay. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room very clean, hotel ideally located. Only 2 negatives…. Mattress uncomfortable Very thin walls- I had a loud snorer next door which made sleeping difficult

Stayed at the property for 3 nights. Did not have too much expectations. The rooftop terrace is beautiful. Hotel is older so expect a musky smell. Expect to hear your neighbours through the walls. Experienced ants in the bathroom for the whole stay. You get what you pay for.

I Advise when booking a room here do not have rooms near to reception woken every day from 6.30 - 7am. Requested room change but no joy. We were in room 8 on ground floor opt for up stairs. Not a relaxing experience Terrible pillows take your own. Toilet constantly flushing despite repairs On plus side affordable and convenient Would go again but not ground floor

Good value for the location
The Lagosmar was a nice hotel a short walk from the tourist area. The room was spacious as was the bathroom, especially in Europe. It was clean and had all the basics needed. The front desk was very helpful with any questions we had. It is not a place to stay if you are looking for luxury, but was a good value for the location.

Nice location on a side street off the main avenue across from the promenade. Very clean & comfortable. Many dining options nearby, walkable from the bus terminal & to the marina & city beach.Friendly front desk staff.

Awesome little hotel. Staff were friend and extremely helpful. Room was spacious and clean, good shower. On a quiet street just of the main square, 10 mins walk from the train station. Price was great, bang for your buck.

Seventies decor but clean and well maintained gives hotel a very pleasant atmosphere. Close to old town but not in noisy high traffic location. Staff very helpful. Quaint, comfortable and reasonable.

It was right in the center of town. We were central to everything. The staff was helpful especially the young man that was there in the evening. The day time people were always busy. We enjoyed our stay.

Not Worth It
For price to stay 6 days, not worth it. For same money could have enjoyed a flat wirh coffee maker, refridgerater, cook some food. Althouh young man at front desk was kind, other staff not as much and felt was hurried. I asked for one complimentary 5 Euro breakfast and they said no even though stayed 6 nights. At this price very stingy and high price for very basic room.

We enjoyed our stay. There was nothing outstanding about it, but it served a purpose, and we were comfortable. I gave it 5 stars based on value, proximity, and cleanliness. The staff were also very helpful. I would stay here again. Only thing to mention is that were in the room next to the lobby and it was noisy at night, we could hear the staff speaking with customers and other guests coming back late at night.

Very large room, a bit dated property but all works fine. Big plus for fast Internet and amazing buffet breakfast. Also, staff is very friendly and helpful. Great location close to dining, shops and beaches.

Great value traditional hotel.
Great traditional central good value hotel. Have stayed many times. Rooms are clean, but basic. Decor is dated, but it amazing value with a great breakfast served until 10:30. Really central - right in the centre of the old town. Can be a bit of noise from the street. Staff really friendly. You have to park in the town centre can be tricky.
