You have what you paid!
It's cheap hostel in We End but you will get what you paid. Just don't expect much of $16 per night. At least you can have a car parking for free if you have one. There are 2 buildings of the hostel, White and Green, it seems the Green one is for the people who live there for ages but the White one is for new guests. But yeah seems most of people who staying in the hostel have been here a ages. *** the booking website said that you've already paid for the first night or what but the true is you've not. So you have to pay the whole amount on the spot. *** Once you show up and you feel not okay to stay just find the new one cause you can.
The manager was very good and looked after us in regard to the price. The sheets and towels were clean though the rest of the building was a little dirty.
I booked this hostel due to the location and the recent reviews... IT WAS A MISTAKE. Upon check in the staff was rude and unfriendly, if I had realised I had not paid for it yet I would of went somewhere else. The way the hostel was upon entry was that bad.
Upon checkin the guy was very pushy and the ‘rules’ are crazy. The wifi did not work while we were there.
The sleeping: the mattresses are typical hostel and hard, however they are yellow. The pillows are stained and the blankets were so gross we did not use them. The room itself looked like it hadn’t been cleaned, ever.
The bathrooms: RUN!! The mild that is around the floors, up the walls and on the wooden door to the bathroom makes you feel dirtier then when you went in. The entire time we were there, they were not cleaned once. It is a shame because they look like they have been redone but it is crazy.
Besides the cleanliness, which is horrible and quite frankly gross and none existent, the noise is loud. With all the rules you’d expect them to enforce the quiet times which they don’t.
Go across the street for cheaper and a MUCH BETTER experience.
DO NOT GO HERE.
Dirty and old hostel. Crew comes into the room without knocking on the door. Crew is rude and unfriendly.

Give it a chance
My Uber pulled into the hostel directly opposite and I was impressed, then realised my hostel was the one on the other side of the road and was very disappointed - it looked like it should be in a ghetto somewhere. Lots of graffitti on the outside as a welcome, the building looked really old and tired, no clear sign as to where reception was, or indeed that it was the hostel I was staying at, and lots of “lock your door” signs everywhere. When I found reception, posters warning abouts the local “thief” were my welcome! Not great so far, but the bed was clean, although extremely noisy, most beds in the room woke everyone up as people moved in their sleep, air con and WiFi were amazing though, and value for money was pretty good I guess. Staff are really friendly. Toilets and showers were gross, although they were cleaned during my stay I don’t think they have had a deep clean since they opened. Overall great for a night or 2 to save money but hostel opposite looked more appealing!
the atmosphere there is great, totally recommend it!

Quiet and homey.
Decent spot, close to shops and transport links. Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable dorm with both AC and fans. Generally a bit 'tired' and run down in appearance lacking some of the facilities of similarly priced alternatives. WiFi ok when it worked properly... Frequently 'no connection', poor signal and/or limited bandwidth however.
1. They had no record of my wotif booking when I arrived (I had the email confirmation, so not my error).
2. They wouldn't let me check in anyway because I didn't have my passport. This fact was not evident ANYWHERE in the booking process. When I mentioned this, I was told haughtily by the boy at reception that well I agreed to it with the terms and conditions (which I'm fairly confident he's never read, and agreeing to terms and conditions when booking online - really?). No "sorry" and "we should look in to that so this doesn't happen again".

Very small kitchen, gets very busy. Have a system where it have to hand your keys over to get mugs, cutlery etc. Rooms are very basic - bed, hangers no where to store anything. Only one shower worth using between about 10 rooms as other one is a wet room with nowhere dry to put clothes and towel.

Get what you pay for.
Arrived at the hostel which has a massive gate, great for security, but was harder to find the entrance since it was in the back and we didn't know if it was a personal house or the hostel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but the room was tiny and there was green stuff on the wall, looked like vomit. The beds were metal frames which were ok, but squeaked with the slightest movement which got very annoying and the walls were paper thin. We had a room right next to the common area on the deck and when we had to go to bed early it is hard when you hear everyone laughing and talking all night. The experience wasn't terrible, but you get what you pay for.
