We had a lovely stay at the Mont d'Or - Johannes was a wonderful host! The property was really homely and the rooms are comfortable and clean. Its a short walk to town, restaurants or the wine tram and we'd definitely stay again :)

This property is in a fantastic location, being nice and central to restaurants and cafes on the Main Street. The staff were very friendly and provided great service. The room itself was pretty average (but spacious), especially given the price - it was quite old, with squeaky floors. The bed was a bit short (not an issue for us but if you’re taller it would be a bit small) and the shower did not have a curtain or door, allowing water to get all over the bathroom floor. The grounds of the hotel were nice with the breakfast by the pool area and garden.

Lovely host, beautiful room (honeymoon suite). Great location to walk to the main street in Franschoek. Nice area to sit outside by the pool. Loved it!

We were warmly met by Johannes at reception. My partner wanted to have her hair done and that was organised by Belinda using her regular hairdresser for the following morning. Helpful recommendations for restaurants. Location is perfect for a quick walk up to the main street where everything is located. Rooms beautifully finished and very comfortable with all you could need. Lovely pool with loungers and comfortable chairs to enjoy the view and sunshine. Highly recommend this gem in Franschoek.

Wonderful guesthouse
Beautiful little guesthouse in a prime location just off the Main Street in Franschhoek. Wonderful stay made to feel at home from the moment I arrived, very enjoyable breakfasts with plenty of choice. Some of the best nights sleep I have had in a long time

Awesome stay
We had a great stay at Mont d'Or! The staff was very accommodating and welcoming. It was the perfect short walk from the wine tram and town. We would recommend this stay to family and friends for sure!

One Night In Franschoek
We enjoyed our stay here. It was a lovely room , bed and sheets wonderful, sitting area, bathroom- all beautifully decorated. The pool and sitting /breakfast area outside as well were stunning and comfortable. Breakfast was perfect with coffee, a caraf of juice, - a table to the side with cereal and yogurt, cheeses, smoked salmon, figs etc and then a hot breakfast offered of toast, any style of egg, bacon ,sausage ,tomatoe, mushrooms . I did not like or enjoy a 10 o'clock check out. I don't remember a 10 o'clock check out anyplace or anywhere at anytime. We had packed and were mostly ready to do a check out when we sat down for breakfast and we checked out at 10 as requested- I hadn't read the 10 o'clock departure line on the reservation ... so it caught us by surprise the cleaning up at breakfast and wind down - as we enjoyed our food... That's fine- it's done- but when we're on vacation on Saturday morning I would probably have enjoyed that extra half hour.

Great solo stay: friendly, beautiful, convenient
I had a great short solo stay. Everybody was so friendly and courteous. The breakfast was delicious. The property is beautiful & quaint. It is incredibly conveniently located as it is walking distance from the Wine Tram.

Such a lovely place!
Amazing stay. Such a lovely place. Quiet and relaxed, but only a few minutes walk from the city center with all it had to offer. Management and staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and well appointed.

The Host was very welcoming, she wasn’t sure about the keys and what was used to lock doors etc. Many times we were locked out the front house section, one guest walked into all the rooms trying to find the main door The room has the most incredibly noisy fridge that kept us up all night.

Excellent location. Breakfast and pool area lovely. Beware of 2 rooms on street at front of hotel. Small, bit noisy and light coming in through glass panel of door from street lighting. Rooms at back of guest house over looking garden and pool much nicer. Had a lovely stay here.

A wine tour in Franschhoek
A nice little place that is in the centre of town. Staff are helpful and friendly. The room is lage and comfortable and clean. Good breakfast. Alsi good wifi connection.

Central stay in Franschoek
Nice stay, very central to all attractions. Stayed in the family/honeymoon room. The room is very large. Only negatives are that it was very cold in the room. The air-conditioner was unable to heat up this large room. May be invest in another type of heat source for room and switch on before guests arrive. The shower has no curtain or door resulting in a real wet mess on the outside. Apart from this two issues the stay was excellent.

Fantastic small hotel in great location
This us a fantastic small hotel just off the main road through Franshhoek. The rooms are individually furnished and extremely comfortable. All the staff were attentive and were able to give us some great info on the local area. Great breakfast and a lovely patio/pool area.

Best B&B in Franschhoek
The best B&B we have stayed in at Franschhoek. Very peaceful, convenient for the restaurants & High Street & with a charming hostess. The room was a little on the small size but the bathroom was spacious. The pool was a bit cloudy so we didn't venture into it. Breakfast was plentiful but I would have liked the food on the sideboard covered.

The photos do not do justice for this amazing property. Quaint, clean and friendly. Very convenient for parking and to the main street for shopping, sightseeing and restaurants. The rooms are very quiet and spacious. Our room was located in the front and had large windows and tall ceilings. Lovely added touches were the fresh roses in the room and a jar of fresh rusks. Beautiful and simple décor. A curtain in the bathroom is recommended as ours looked onto the street and passersby can see in through the large window. An extension cord for the hair dryer would be helpful to avoid sitting on the floor to dry hair...The pool was full of leaves/dirt and not overly inviting, so we didn't go in. The ambience and views of the mountains peeking out around the courtyard were delightful. Breakfast was delicious. Wifi worked well and staff were inviting and friendly. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

Very welcoming hosts, clean and comfortable. Extremely convenient for restaurants and shops plus there is parking available. Could have done with table or surface in bathroom as nowhere to put anything. Great breakfast and lovely pool.
