Pros: Location was great. It got loud at night with the party buses and events, but we didn't mind. Overall clean and good AC/fan in the rooms. Cons: Hotel is outdated. Great for if you're just looking for a place to sleep. Construction next door. Breakfast was mediocre. Pool did not look swimmable which was a huge disappointment. It had an odd colour dust (presumably from all the construction). **Side note: I was travelling with my husband and 1year old baby.

heavy construction around the area which is out of control of the property. but it is located right on the town center where there is major traffic including the party buses. so it is quite loud.

Nice hotel in the heart of the city within walking distance of pretty much everything. Only complaint would be the construction going on outside, but aside from that everything was great !

I don't fault the hotel for construction going on right outside the hotel, it needs to be done. What really set me off was when I tried to check in, after confirming TWICE before arriving, being told everything is OK, they tried to give me a room that was NOT what I reserved. They had the nerve to tell me, "well, that's what happens when you don't book directly with us." Not a good way to start my trip. After having to raise my voice and express my disgust with everyone watching, they gave me a room that was only a little better than what I was getting when I first arrived. It was NOT the room I booked and confirmed. The hotel smelled badly everywhere outside the room. Really treated poorly. I won't be back again.

This hotel is perfectly located, the staff is friendly and helpful. However there is a huge construction project happening all around the property. As well the pool was not open for the duration of our stay and we were not notified beforehand. I would call ahead to check if that was a selling point for your visit and make sure it will be available or if you can get a room where there is not a full blown construction site outside your window. Once the construction is completed this hotel will be the ultimate gem.

Such a great hotel for the price! It’s not fancy and could use renovation. However, my room was clean, all of the staff were friendly, the complimentary breakfast was good, and the location is great.

My wife and I spent three days there and we loved it. It’s very romantic and makes you feel nostalgic. We really liked that it was across from the walled city so you had access to great shopping and restaurants. It’s also close in front of the clock tower which is where the island tour guides pick you up. Also close to the bay in case you wanted to take a yacht. The building is old so some of the exterior aesthetics need to be updated. However, inside is well taken care of. The only issue was that we were placed on the fourth floor and the elevator only goes up three floors. Not a deal breaker for us.

Excellent location - walking distance to all attractions, restaurants and stores. We had a room facing the restaurant so it’s nice and quiet. The facilities are very basic but adequate for a short stay.

Location of superb, we got a nice room with a view/ however we were here on a Friday night and there was a bad playing on the roof well almost till 2am. They need to assign rooms smartly so we would be disturbed by the noise.

This hotel has a beautiful indoor patio and a roof deck that has views of the water and old city. The rooms are comfortable with high ceilings. The area around can be loud with music at night, but that is fairly expected for Cartagena. I was able to sleep easily through it. It’s nice to be right on Getsmani’s doorstep and that part of the city is hip and colorful!

Staff was friendly and respectful. The Hotel is a pretty colonial building and is clean and well-kept. I was initially given a room where the AC wasn't working but the front desk was quick in giving me another room. I'm not sure if because of the room price, but my room was facing a Hotel construction right next to it, where laborers are present during the day time and could see me whether in clothes or naked. I did not care but I believe that females or males who prime for privacy should take this into consideration. Another information for any travelers who consider meeting anyone (either local or another visitor) and eventually bringing into your room. The hotel will charge additional 100K pesos (about 26 dollars - Sept 2021) for each individual regardless the amount of time spent. My room cost me $50 per day, so that would be half of what I paid. I personally did not bring anyone because I met friends there, but I found those charges abusive just because Cartagena (Colombia in general) is known for its legal prostitution (therefore the hotel wants to earn from you as well). The breakfast is simple (but I find it fair based on how much I paid for the hotel): 2 eggs, 1 plate of tropical fruits, 1 plate with some bread, coffee and 1 glass of orange juice. The servers were always very genuine and respectful and I left them good tips.

I stayed march 15th, 2020. The shower was warm. I was so happy to end my trip with a warm shower. No other showers on my trip to Colombia had warm water. It was great! Room was clean. Bed very comfortable. Nice sheets and bedding. The staff was wonderful. Front desk speaks english. The rooftop is big and had a great view. You can order drinks up there. Order the coconut lemonade! The pool is small but perfect for cooling off. Lots of places to sit or lay up there. Great location. You can walk anywhere in the city. This is right in the middle of it all.
