If you’re visiting Catania then ditch the hotels and stay at this lovely B&B. It’s great, directly in the city center and the breakfast is amazing!

One night in Catania
The B&B is not in a very good area of Catania. I would not stay the if you think you will be out after dark. The rom was clean and bed was comfortable. The room was surprisingly quite despite being at a very busy intersections. The host was vet accommodating in allowing us to leave our bags earlier.

Close to everything
Great position within walking distance of the cultural old town of Catania. Only hire small cars in Sicily as you have to squeeze in tight places. Was able to park at accommodation. Walk up 3 flights of stairs though with suitcases was difficult. Had trouble with the keys...our room key lock was just a bit too touchy. Spent an anxious 14 minutes toying with it as owners had gone out.

Nice respite from the larger tourist towns.
We arrived mid-day and found no difficulty gaining access through the controlled gate to the property. We were met by the proprietess who is the daughter-in-law of the owner. After a quick tour of the property which includes a beautiful private swimming pool, she pointed out some paths through a somewhat neglected lemon orchard. Our room was easily accessible with parking right in front of our rental unit. Fridge, stove, oven and cooking utensils are good. The place was very clean, modern and spare. Make sure to bring your own soap, laundry detergent, and if you are arriving later in the day - food and coffee to tide you over. The drive to town is mere minutes but finding good food vendors can be a trick. If you aren't familiar with foreign washing machines, be sure to ask how to use the one in your rental unit. Meeting, and socializing with other visitors can be delightful - or not. For us it was great. We had a very relaxing time and took an extensive tour of the coastal area including the old tuna processing facility. Even in mid-October it can get hot and sunny - bring sunscreen!

Charming pension in a city-centre palace
This is charming, little pension set up in a beautiful palace and located in wonderful area of Catania, just a few steps from the main square and the main shopping street. I liked Rossana very much, she welcomed me and explained about the city and she has excellent communication with guests. Room was nice, spacious and very clean. I also liked breakfast which was simple and served on a communal table where all guests sit together and can socialize. Pension is lovely for all guests who want to stay at the place with a lot of art and antiques.

VERY CENTRALLY LOCATED BED AND BREAKFAST
We had a very warm welcome from the staff who showed us to our very comfortable and stylish bedroom. We were only spending one night in Catania prior to flying back to the U.K. so wanted somewhere very central so we could quickly visit the cathedral and a few central piazzas. We left too early to have breakfast, but were shown the fridge with yogurts and rolls and fruit juice and how to use the coffee maker and had a quick snack before heading off to the airport in the taxi which the b&b had organised for us. Although Acquadellarte is on a side street there is quite a lot of traffic noise from local streets which with good earplugs can be eliminated - my husband who is a very light sleeper was not disturbed.

Highly recommend Acquadellarte B&B
It's true, this is a hidden gem, looks austere on the outside but inside is both typically Sicilian and modern at the same time. Hospitality is brilliant. Thank you to Rosanna and her team, they made us very welcome. The Acquadellarte is close to the centre of Catania, so lots to see within easy walking distance. Many places to eat, beautiful architecture too.

Highly Recommend
So easy to get to from Catanaia airport on the Alibus. A Grim facade but a wonderful place to stay. Clean and spacious and such pleasant and helpful staff. Lovely breakfast. Location is so good for the old part of Catania including the fishmarket, restaurants and culture.

Short break in Catania
Close to the centre. Lovely hotel with nice big room. Mikala(?)the lady who greeted us and served breakfast each day was very nice and helpful, did breakfast early for us as we had a early morning flight. Catania is a lovely city, a bit dirty but lots to see, well worth a visit to Syacuse and Taomina by local bus.

The B&B was hard to find -- street number not well marked and the area is, well, a little rough and noisy and uncared for. Although the woman who greeted us (and let us leave our luggage in our room early) was extremely warm and helpful, overall we got the impression that there was no one in charge. The room was clean, the breakfast so-so. Of the 6 or so places we stayed in in Sicily, this was our least favourite.

Well located and quiet B&B
The B&B is on the second floor of an old building that looked pretty rough on the outside. But once we had climbed the stairs and got inside we were pleasantly surprised. Our suite was large with good sized comfortable bed - the room was quiet with no road noise. The ensuite was huge with large spa bath. The hostess was very pleasant and gave us a map and explained where all the main attractions were. She also told us about some local restaurants, which were very good. B&B is well located. Breakfast was good with great coffee.

Small B&B great location
B&B located at entry to old town, 1 block from fish market. Convenient from airport as you don't have to fight the waterfront traffic or manouver around the small old town streets to find it, saves time & money on the taxi fare, which is only 20euro to here. Catania's old town not bright & clourful because of all the dark Etna stone used to make the buildings, everything is grey so the first impressions of sites are they are not in great neighbouthood but the neighbouthood of B&b is safe & close to fish market & cathedral. Room was large, bed comfortable breakfast plentiful & internet worked fine. Joseph the owner & his wife are very welcoming. Only complaints: towels were thin & rough & street noise if your room faces the street.b&b only has 6 rooms.

Easy access to both old town and airport
Great B&b, big family room and easy walk into the old town. We called ahead and pre arranged a parking space in their courtyard for our rental car, so only a 10 minute drive to the airport the next morning for our flight.

Don't judge a book by its cover!
I have to agree with some of the earlier reviews that first impressions when arriving to the street address is a giant "What on earth have I booked?" However, once you drive through the entranceway, climb the stair to the entrance door and step inside, you realize you have discovered a true hidden gem! We were given an extremely pleasant welcome and shown around a wonderfully decorated, and very clean old palace with high ceilings and modern conveniences. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with clean, crisp linens, cold A/C, and a well appointed bathroom. Acquadellarte B&B is extremely well positioned for walking to many of Catania's points of interest, and dining options, and for an extremely easy trip to the airport. I too would suggest reserving a parking space in advance as the street options look very busy. I certainly recommend Acquadellarte B&B for an affordable stay in Catania.

Exquisite Decor!
I had a quick overnight stay at this beautiful b&b. I will definitely return. The decor of the living quarters and the room is beautiful and both are very clean. Check-in was fast and the owner was kind to drive me to the airport for an early flight. The b&b is conveniently located in the centre of the city There are gluten free options for breakfast.

Hidden gem!
When we pulled up, I did wonder what I''d booked - the outside and surroundings did not look so good. But once inside, what a surprise! This is an 18th C palazzio, with many original features but also modern comforts. Very friendly and helpful welcome, and good breakfast. Just 5 mins walk to city centre. Book ahead if you need car parking space.

Very nice
Difficult to find but very nice place. Close to every thing that is important at Catania. One drawback is car parking. Very limited.. I had to park in the street two blocks down.

Jolies chambres spacieuses, localisation centrale
BB bien situé, près du marché aux poissons et des principales attractions de Catane. Accès facile depuis l’aéroport en bus (4 euro/ personne), mais nous avons préféré utiliser le service de navette pour y retourner prendre notre vol (15 euro). Chambre spacieuse et propre pour accueillir une famille de quatre. Il manquait une table de chevet et une lampe d’un côté du lit. Beaucoup de rangements et d’endroits pour poser nos effets personnels sont prévus, y compris - ce qui est rare - un support pour les brosses à dents. Wifi fonctionnel. Petit déjeuner correct pour le prix et servi avec le sourire, plutôt industriel qu’artisanal. Nous aurions aimé savoir que la réception était fermée de 13h à 15h, car sans téléphone, nous serions restés sur le trottoir.

Hyggeligt B&B tæt ved den historiske bykerne
Min mand og jeg var igen i år Acqua dell'Arte, og vi valgte dette B&B, fordi vi var så glade for at være der sidste år. Hotellet levede igen fint op til vores forventninger. Det er rigtig fint indrettet med store og pæne værelser, rent, velindrettet med aircondition og køleskab på værelset, og servicen er fin med et imødekommende, sødt og behjælpsomt personale. Når man første gang ankommer til adressen, er det lidt svært at finde hotellet, da man skal ind gennem en port og opad nogle trapper. Ligeså snart man er indenfor, er alt fint, og man modtages med varme og imødekommenhed. Parkering ved hotellet er muligt mod reservation, men der er ikke så mange pladser. Et af de helt store plusser ved dette B&B er beliggenheden lige ved Piazza del Duomo, den historiske bykerne og fiskemarkedet.
