Dutch Wonderland Inn

"We arrived late and decided to dine in the restaurant on site. This was very convenient considering we had just drove 12 hours. We were the only people in the restaurant. They gave big portions, too big to finish and the pasta was delicious. They need to advertise this place with the local campgrounds. There is a campground behind the Inn. As we ate we watched people going in and out from the campground. Obviously, they were going out to eat considering the time frame. I asked the waitress what they do for advertising the restaurant, she replied nothing. What a shame considering they have a captive audience in their back parking lot. The next morning we were heading out early, long before the restaurant opened. They offer a full buffet, I hope people showed up. All in all we will return when passing through the area."

"We arrived very late and the attendant at the front desk was terrific! Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was terrific. It was a very quick, but comfortable stay!"

"This Inn is literally on the Penn State Campus. The parking is expensive and extra, $12 if you can figure out where to park, otherwise $25 a day plus tip. My room was on the first floor, There were quite a lot of steps to go up and down with my luggage. The cleaning staff didn’t wipe off the surfaces. The restaurants were excellent. There are 4 options."

"The breakfast was not good, even for a continental breakfast. Only bagels, some cereal, and a yogurt machine. The decor in general is old and could use updating, including the matresses. More electrical outlets in the room would be helpful. The coffee was quite good, and the bathroom was new and in great shape."

"Staff was kind and helpful in resolving our issues (very loud pipe hammer) by moving us to another room. Their manager, not on site, was unwilling to take a phone call from them, so they did their best. New room was an improvement, but we did find dog hair on the couch cushions. The room was quiet, and we slept well. As always, check-in and out were easy, and we appreciate the 12pm check-out time. Breakfast has gone downhill; as a gluten-free eater, I was disappointed to see that the breakfast protein was battered and fried (and not very good, according to my husband). Still, it was a decent stay. Desk staff was kind enough to manage our next booking (several months ahead) by placing us in a non-highway side room. While it wasn't the greatest hotel experience ever, it beats the last two we've had by a mile."
