Cihampelas Walk – or Ciwalk – is one of the leading shopping malls in West Java’s capital, Bandung. The mall is located on Cihampelas Street, a key destination for tourists, and a part of the city noted for a wide selection of shopping options.
With a large number of factory outlet stores to wander around where visitors can hunt for bargains, Bandung really is a shopper’s paradise, especially for those interested in clothes (particularly jeans) and accessories like shoes and handbags. It’s also a great area for food, with a great choice of restaurants offering both local and international cuisine.
Cihampelas Walk itself is a very ‘outdoor’ mall with great surroundings that suit the local weather conditions (except in the rainy season). It is vast, covering around 3.5 hectares, and it has been designed to have a spacious, natural feel about it. Easily accessible by taxi and public transport, the mall is family friendly and offers lots of places for people to just sit and relax, particularly in the evening. Alongside all the usual facilities expected at a shopping mall like shops, restaurants and cinemas, there’s a large children’s playground.
Cihampelas Walk sells excellent quality goods at reasonable prices, and there is a huge choice available so visitors can buy almost anything. Foreigners on holiday are entitled to a 10 per cent discount, so it’s worth taking a copy of your passport along when you buy souvenirs and presents for home.
