"Jozankei Yurakusoan was easily one of the highlights of our stay in Hokkaido. From the moment we checked in, it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into creating a relaxing and memorable guest experience. Every little detail from the warm hospitality to the thoughtful amenities made us feel well looked after.
The biggest highlight was undoubtedly the onsen. The public hot spring baths were excellent, and our room even came with its own private bath, which made for an incredibly peaceful way to unwind. On top of that, the hotel also offers four private onsens that guests can reserve and enjoy, making it easy to have a more intimate hot spring experience.
Guests are provided with comfortable yukatas to wear throughout the property, and shoes are left at the entrance, creating a clean and relaxing atmosphere that quickly feels like home. One of our favourite touches was the complimentary late-night ramen served from 10 pm which was a simple but thoughtful treat after an evening soak in the onsen.
Parking was also convenient thanks to the automated parking garage. Whenever we needed our car, a staff member was always on hand to help retrieve it promptly, and the service throughout our stay was consistently warm and attentive.
The only area that didn’t quite meet our expectations was the kaiseki dinner. While a few dishes were excellent the others were a bit of a miss. Breakfast was similarly elaborate, with multiple courses that felt a little overwhelming for us."
