We would definitely recommend Maison Perumal to everyone visiting Pondicherry. Beautiful, restored and well-maintained, french colonial-style house with big, comfortable rooms. Good location, close to the french quarter. The staff was very helpful, giving us good advice of what to do in our limited time of our Pondi stay, organised a good driver for us and flexible in letting us use the room again to shower and relax long after we checked out. Will defo come back!

Though it’s a newly constructed hotel, it follows a vintage architecture very earnestly - the high ceiling, the colonial furniture, and grand father clocks all reminiscent of the rich history of Pondicherry. Staff, at front desk and restaurant are very courteous without being overbearing. Overall we had a lovely time and our three year old enjoyed the stay in “hotel house” very much!

Helpful staff.

The property was nice. The property charges $1.50 per minute (sing dollar) for local calls. Outrages charges! on local phone-line usage for guest, which is usually complimentary for guest (for local calls).

The hotel was good but a lot of construction around the place. The restaurants on the ground floor for breakfast and the seafood on the roof top was excellent.

Good quality breakfast. Chef was great.

We spent two wonderful nights here, and it is easily one of the best hotels I have ever experienced. Check-in was smooth, and the entire team was exceptionally warm and helpful. A special thank you to Smruti, the duty manager, for kindly providing an early check-in and a complimentary room upgrade. We enjoyed our stay completely and will gladly return and recommend this hotel without hesitation.

I have booked with airport pick up at Chennai airport. The car ride was pleasant and car was clean and comfortable. The check in was a bit slow with only 2 check in desks. I had a slightly bigger room than my colleague who stayed next door. The room itself doesnt have any sunlight as the window was in the toilet. The room and toilet are modern decorated. I ordered room service - steamed fish and fried rice was good. Portion was huge for 1 pax. Overall i had a good stay.
