"A little away from town center and train station but street cars go to property. Hotel nice and beds good but the bathroom is small and hard to use. Great price for in suite room with kitchenette and balcony. The breakfast are excellent and well priced to select that option"
"After a few busy days in Tokyo, it was a nice change of pace to be in Hakodate. The hotel is in a great location that’s walking distance from the train station. And also to the brick warehouse shopping area and fish market. We also used the onsen at the hotel. It’s included in your stay. It was our very first time for our family. We didn’t know there was a little tote bag we could take up with us to the onsen. Also remember to bring a towel from your room. I wanted to book a massage but it was fully booked. You have to pay separately for the massage. Rates were very reasonable. Plan ahead next time. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was excellent. They are famous for the seafood parfait with ikura, shrimp, salmon, tuna. There’s also Wagyu too at the breakfast. Definitely worth it for around $23 usd per person. We would definitely come back again."
"Having stayed here multiple times, I would say this is one of the best hotels in Japan. The breakfast is one of the best breakfast buffets and the hotel service is excellent. It is great to have a private balcony onsen at a reasonable price and with a very large room compared to other cities. The only inconvenience is that the hotel location is a bit far from the city centre, but you can easily get there via public transit or taxi with little traffic or delay.
I would suggest two things for improving this hotel. First, they could use some English language labelling in your room (for explaining what certain buttons do, etc), given the high amount of foreign tourists visiting this hotel (from Asia and other areas, but they would all presumably be able to read English). Second, some kind of option to lower the temperature in the private onsen would be helpful because it is very hot. We realized you can use water from the cold tap in the shower to lower it a bit, but there should have been a little wash tub in the shower room that could be filled up and used for this purpose."
"Though the room wasn’t overly large, the beds were very comfortable. We had some freezer packs from a cooler that the front desk staff kindly re-froze for us in their freezer, since the room only has a refrigerator.
The buffet breakfast was very nice as well. Happy with the stay. Conveniently located not too far from the popular Hakodate attractions."
"We enjoyed our stay here. The food was delicious. The service was attentive. We were just not used to how hot the Japan onsen was but it was nice to have two different area. The kids really enjoyed the ping pong tables and the vintage video game room. We enjoyed the dinner buffet, but the breakfast could be better.
The bedding - sleep mats were super thin and were hard to sleep on. We did asked for it to be double up to help with the hard floor. The front desk was able to arrange for this except if we want it set up by the staff there is additional charge. We didn’t mind doing it ourselves for free."
"A convenient location near the train station with good facilities including an onsen. The breakfast is simply amazing with a focus on local seafood that is so fresh and tasty. You can build your own seafood rice bowl for breakfast, there is freshly shaved kombu, tasty ramen etc. Probably one of the tastiest breakfast we have ever had. There is parking but the car park just outside the hotel has limted spaces. Thankfully, the hotel has an arrangement with a nearby car park for the same price so parking shoud not be an issue."
