Good Location
The Buenavista is a fairly basic 1 star hotel on the seafront with a busy road in front and hence a little noisy. However it is one of the few hotels in the centre of town and a good place to stay in order to explore the old town. Lots of great restaurants nearby and lively paces to have a drink.

The Hotel Buenavista occupies a prime front line location in the centre of Estepona. It is not a swish upmarket commercial enterprise, but a traditional antiquated Spanish hotel serving those of us who just love finding places like this that are friendly, comfortable and fairly priced. I was a single maie visitor and given a room overlooking the sea front and sea. It had a very comfortable double bed, ensuite bathroom with bath & shower. The windows had blackout curtains (a must have) and the aircondioner was reversible (hot/cold). The room was kept nicely warm for the cool January evenings! The front reception was manned 24 hours per day which is extremely worthwhile when traveling by night flight into Malaga airport and then by bus to Estepona. Being adjacent to old town is so convenient for all the bars and restaurants, Estepona is such a nice Spanish town and not overrun by noisy tourists (not during my visit). If you're looking for somewhere plush to post online, then you'll not be satisfied here, but if you're an adventurer happy to see what comes up, you'll not be disappointed with the Buenavista.

It’s not a hotel... there’s no facilities... I was quoted E35 but was charged E50 + tax I checked out after one night even though I paid for four! It’s a hostel.. not a hotel It’s an absolutel horrible place and I have quotes from yourselves quoting me E35 Anyway I won’t trust you again

We returned to this hotel as it is in a good location, excellent price for value and dogs are admitted free. Will be returning again as it is a nice get away for a night from the sierra down to the coast.

Its an older hotel but you can't beat the location! Lovely to hear the waves crashing on the beach at night. Central location. Vintage Rick Steves kind of vibe. Could use an update, but I wouldn't hesitate going again. Very friendly night staff!

The hotel has a good location near the main town and opposite the beach and is good value for money. My room had a nice balcony with sea views.

Cheap and nearly cheerful.
Cheap and in the right place. Got back to room at 4.30pm after a long tiring day hoping for a snooze before going out to eat. The room had not been done. I thought 'sod it', locked the door and lay on the bed. Only to be woken up 20mins later by housekeeping hammering on the door. They did not get a warm welcome! And I could have done without the previous occupant 's hair decorating the bottom of the bath.

The hotel earns its 1 star but no more .... Has a great location but that can come out noisy until 2 am if your room is facing the walking street with busy restaurants....old hotel...with some renovation , could be a good spot.

Hotel was in great location and I was delighted with my sea view. Was there for family wedding. Was ok with putting my makeup on in the bathroom but I would have liked a full length mirror. Other than that I was happy with my stay at this hotel.

Basic, but perfect.
I stayed here for a 3 night business trip and just wanted somewhere cheap and cheerful to sleep on a night. This is the perfect place to do just that, it fulfilled all the criteria perfectly and the staff were helpful and always happy 24hrs a day. Would I take my wife here on a romantic getaway? No. Would I recommend it for anybody that needs a basic place to stay whilst they explore the region? Absolutely!!!! Hotel Buena Vista - it's like the Ronseal of hotels, it does exactly what it says on the tin. Great view, great place to sleep!

As you might expect from a 1-star hotel
Room was lacking - first thing that hit me as i entered the room was the smell (old and musty), not all the electrical outlets were in working order, thin walls (you can hear people in adjacent rooms). On the plus side, the view from the balcony was great and the hotel is very central, a stone's throw from the beach/paseo maritimo and close to the restaurants and other amenities.

lovely stay at Hotel Buena Vista
the room was very clean ( every day it was cleaned ). if we had any problems , ( only one ) it was sorted immediately. we had a room with a balcony overlooking the beach with table and chairs. out of the back of the Hotel were all the shops etc ... it is a central location and we really enjoyed our stay there , the whole staff made us feel comfortable and welcome . i would recommend Hotel Buena Vista and would go again if we go to Estepona . easy walking distance to the harbour too where there are more restaraunts and a Sunday Market . the only downside is that there was no kettle in the room to make a morning cuppa .

The hotel location was very convenient, being just across the street from the beach and very convenient for our pick up for our day trip to Morocco. The fact that breakfast was not available was a bit problematic because we had to be out early for our day trip and nothing in the neighborhood was open.

The hotel has a great location on the beach. Rooms are simple but are there only for sleeping so that is OK. The negative part of the experience was that on arrival the woman at the counter was not very friendly and certainly did NOT make us feel welcome.

Perfect location, perfect room for me. I stayed alone, after travelling to my cousins wedding. Room was perfect for my needs. I got to walk along the beach in the morning and go to the shops whenever I fancied. Ideal location

Location is the thing
I booked this hotel because it was the closest one to where my friends live and since neither they nor I would have a car everything could be done on foot. It is not a fancy hotel with fancy sheets. The rooms are fine facing the ocean also face the boulevard so I liked the view but if you have a problem with noise make sure you get a room facing the back. Just steps away from the beach and go out the back door to wonderful small streets with restaurants. I have to say that my room was not cleaned when I came. It was just an oversight and they couldn't have more apologetic. The maid personally apologized and brought me water and cokes. The night manager Paco was upset that I hadn't told him and apologized. It is a simple hotel but everyone was very friendly.

After reading some of the reviews, I was a bit worried. But for 35 euros I got a clean room with its own bathroom and air conditioning, although it did not have an ocean view. I would stay there again, especially for that price.
