A good option to Keflavik.
We were in room 1 - it was very large. Two sofas three bedrooms three bathrooms and a large kitchen. The warm air hit us as we walked in the door - very nice. No awful sprays or other bad odors. It was just what we needed including a washing machine to clean the baby clothes. I recommend staying here. It is a very practical and comfortable place. Papa’s pizzas and fish and chips is near and has good food. Other sights are close by and not busy.

We didn’t know where to take the trash. Also, maybe offer fans to people. There was a couple of warm nights (we like to sleep cold). Overall, excellent.

Spacious but basic converted commercial space
This guesthouse is in a converted storefront, which means it has a lot of space, which is great, but is also a bit awkward (for example, the the massive open shower in one of the bathrooms) and rather shabby (e.g. broken drawer in the kitchen, holes in the bedsheets). It was rather disappointing for the relatively high price and the owners/management are hard to get a response from about questions. It is in easy reach of the airport and the Blue Lagoon, but the town of Grindavik itself is rather gritty.

Thank you for your stay with us. We have "masive" open shower, because from regulations we have to have shower for people on wheelchairs. We will improve thing which you mention(drawer,holes..) In high season we have people there every day,so it can happen that somethink brake. Also we are trying to answers every question ,so we do not know where became mistake in communication. We apologize for that.

Basic but adequate
The place is clean and adequate for a one night stay before heading to the airport. Communication is all done through email and the hosts seemed nice and respond quickly, but you will never see them and they are not present at the hotel. The hotel is listed with 3 stars. Personally, I think that's a little generous. There was body wash and shampoo in only one of the three shared bathrooms. The pillows were so lumpy and should absolutely be replaced. Instructions are left indicating to put your towels in the laundry basket and to wash/dry/put away any dishes that were used during your stay. It had the feel of a hostel rather than a hotel. Maybe this is normal for Iceland, but I think future guests should be aware when booking.

We will try to improve other things which you mention. Normally we have body wash in every bathroom,maybe you were just unlucky when you came ,and it finished. We apologize for that. The room is certainly great for the price. Lots of room, clean, right in the heart of Grindavik. Walkable to the shore and to most of the town. My only critique was the communication. There is no front desk and email was a bit spotty as I had limited Wi-Fi being an international traveler. As I was not traveling by car and had to rely on the limited bus schedule, it was hard for me to time my arrival for the strict check in and check out times. That is usually not an issue if bag storage is an option, but it did not seem to be. I had to hang around the spot next door for 2 hours waiting for check-in instructions instead of exploring the town. I want to emphasize that this was a minor setback in an otherwise fine stay. The room was everything I needed and certainly worth the price.

The guesthouse was very nice - beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, location good with a short walk to grocery store, restaurants, and the amazing city pool! It is a simply furnished guesthouse but met all of our needs.

The guesthouse was clean and spacious enough for 4 adults. The location was perfect to explore the nearby volcano, visit Blue Lagoon and other attractions in the area. Eat at the restaurant next store. It was delicious.

The apartment was spacious and comfortable. Plenty of sleeping spots for a family or group. Nothing fancy, just basic, but it worked well for us. A good restaurant next door was a bonus. Close to the Blue Lagoon. 20 minutes from the airport.

This is dorm style sleeping arrangement with a functioning and well equipped kitchen. One bathroom. Very close to Blue Lagoon, just 20 minutes from the airport. Restaurant/bar next door. Grocery store less than 5 minute drive away. My family of 6 stayed here because it was cheaper than other options; there was nothing spectacular about the place, but I don't have any complaints either. I'd stay here again.

Very close to the Blue Lagoon. The best part of the property was the beds, they were so comfortable, best in Iceland. Very good property for the price.

Nice kitchen and sitting area, but needs another sink because its so busy. Check in was difficult because our phones didnt work, email didnt get responded to until hours later and we werent told manager was in apt. #5 so we could knock on door. Quiet hours were not observed, partying until 2am.

If itvqsx some party in the other apartments you should have let us know but if it was not in our property then there us nothing we could do

Access is easy and enough public parking in front, beds ( stapple en one double were visually separated all electrical plugs did not work even in small kitchen (even for boiling water we had to change) and light beside bed was defect

It was spacious and clean. We didn’t meet the owners but their communication was clear. We had one of the very few warm nights in Iceland and weren’t able to open a window or increase ventilation. It was a short drive to the hike up to the volcano. Highly recommend.

nice stay
We had a great 1 night stay here. There were 7 of us in our group and there was plenty of room! It was a quirky layout but 4 adults and 3 kids were very comfortable. The location was very convenient to both the Blue Lagoon and the hike to the volcano. The airport was about 30 minutes to the airport. We all agreed we would stay there again

Great getaway to a volcano
Thanks for accommodating our early check-in request,- after our red-eye flight this made our day! This place looks like refurbished storefront and that means it is very spacious! Very clean, with kitchenette and next door to a Fish House restaurant with a whale bone in front of it, 10 min or less drive to a parking for a trail to Volcano. Town of Grindavik is near airport, on the way to it you pass the Blue Lagoon and you can have a glimpse at it. Netto suopermarket is well stoked and people are friendly and helpful here.

Bath room and toilet are quite clean... but everywhere will be wet after showering... i should say this is not my worst stay for this trip. Good for a one night stay☺
