Food in Johor Baru
Chinese, Indian and Malay cuisine are the most dominant culinary options in Johor Bahru. The hawker centres are recommended sites when tourists want a cheap dining option with the locals. Dishes like roti canai and nasi lemak are popular options in JB. Restaurants are spread across the city, and compared to nearby Singapore the food is reasonably cheap. There isn’t much in the way of bars in Johor Bahru. However, visitors will still find a few Western-style watering holes, including T.G.I. Fridays and the Duty Free Zone.

One of Johor Bahru’s most enticing features is its shopping scene. There are dozens of shopping malls, department stores and hypermarkets, all of which offer a variety of products at cheaper prices than in neighbouring Singapore.
