"Hotel well located. Check in friendly and an added bonus that we were upgraded. Staff very helpful and room great, although view of car park a little disappointing for a suite. Leisure facilities very clean and well managed. Would definitely stay here again."

The Minster Hotel York

The Minster Hotel York

8/10 Good
"Excellent family-run hotel; fantastic location right near the Minster and in the heart of the Old Town. Stumbling distance from every pub in town Staff were very nice throughout - in fact I wondered if they were for real - they were. Our rooms were brand new. No AC but that's a British thing, I think. Plumbing worked though! The fried breakfasts are huge but there are plenty of other healthy options. The breakfast room itself is in the older part and needs a little TLC but that is a minor observation. A perfect hotel for families and couples.PS. I often felt I was in the middle of an Alan Bennett play because the place felt so nostalgic, in a good way."

The Queens Hotel & Victoria Cloisters

The Queens Hotel & Victoria Cloisters

10/10 Excellent
"We had a great time here, the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and clean and comfortable. The hide a bed of course was very springy but thatโ€™s to be expected with a hide a bed haha. The only problems we had were the lack of drip coffee pot since we arenโ€™t espresso drinkers, which the house keeper said she was in the process of getting them in the rooms. Our other problem was my fault for not requesting a lower floor when booking the room, we were up on the second floor and had lots of luggage so I had to haul it all up and down. So if you donโ€™t do stairs well or will have lots of luggage, make sure you stay in the hotel or request a lower floor in the cloisters. The location is great since itโ€™s off the Main Street itโ€™s not too loud at night but itโ€™s still nice and close to the bridge to go into the centre of town. I would definitely come stay here again if Iโ€™m back in York."
