Very clean and convenient location
Really nice, clean and well located hostel. We stayed in an en-suite twin room which was just as good if not better than a budget hotel. Really liked it.

A very pleasant stay
I would give a 5 star for this hostel. Room was cleaned Everyday. Everything you need is provided for. Shampoo, body soap, towel, hairdryer, even the lock for the locker. Breakfast is specially prepared according to your preference. Yummy!

Nice hostel
This hostel is along the Backpacker's street which will give the travelers the advantage to almost everything, from food to souvenirs. It is also located in district 1 so not much of a hassle in going to certain places. The staff were great, especially Sean (I think), they speak english well and they provide everything for you. The breakfast is limited to either sandwich or baguette along with eggs cooked differently and some noodles. The room was clean and organized, and they are strict with no shoes or slippers inside the hostel, which is good. Will certainly go back again here!

We had an early flight and had to leave hotel around 4 a.m. The staff was very nice. The room was very clean and quiet. Safe and comfy. The breakfast was yummy! We will go back for sure !

Horrible experience - terrible breakfast that I would have been ashamed to serve, let alone sell for an outrageous price - dead insects on the ground should have been a clue to the bed bugs which later riddled my room - staff also just didn't seem to get our problems and after two more rooms were offered which both had bed bugs , we up and left - worst hotel I stayed in the whole of Vietnam and not cheap either

Super Clean and New Hostel
I was traveling with a friend, and after a horrible experience at a nearby hostel, we were so grateful and relieved to find New Saigon Hostel, a very new and clean hostel. We chose the 6-bed female dorm. I ended up on the top bunk, but it was nice because I was right next to the A/C unit, a luxury in Southeast Asia. Complimentary breakfast is downstairs, and you order off their one-page menu. I ordered the banh mi sandwich - it was okay. But the passion fruit juice was delicious! Although getting ice in your drink is a no-no, I just gave in (it was towards the end of our trip) and enjoyed the refreshing taste. The shared bathroom is clean but also built in the usual "asian-style" where there is a shower head but no tub, so the water is drained on the floor. There were large lockers that came with locks, which was very nice.

Affordable and clean hostel in backpackers alley
This hostel was very clean and modern. I reserved two rooms in the women's dorm room on the 5th floor and was really impressed by the room! Their complimentary breakfast is great, and they have two Mac computers for use and a book exchange. Plus there's an elevator so we didn't have to trek up the stairs everyday! The location is right at the end of the busiest backpacking streets in Saigon, so if you're sensitive to noise this might not be for you, but I had a great time exploring the night life on this road.

Dodgy place along backpacker's lane
Unlike the good reviews given on the internet. I think this place is suitable if you are looking for adventure, dodgy fun, "extra service". During the day, it is a normal street. But by night, there's a lot of young girls in skimpy sexy clothes, not sure if they are prostitutes or social escort or beer ladies. Even my local friends don't go near such places, and I sensed their raised eyebrow at the mention of this street, which I find embarrassing. Sure, it's very affordable place. Unless you are on shoestring budget, and like to have extra exciting experience, and "extra" service, I think this is not the best place to stay at. I had to book into a 6 bed female dorm. It gets filthy, dirty, noisy. Some of the dormer were active in the night and sleeping in the day. It's too difficult to move very quietly during the day, and very hard to get sleep when people are talking as if the start of the day (probably it IS start of day for them). I changed into a private room afterwards as reasonable price. However, on my checkout day, before the check-out time, I was called to vacate the room asap for other customers. I thought it was rather rude. But while waiting for my taxi, there was actually noone going into the room, so I think they just want to ask me to get out of there asap (I am a very tidy person so I don't get it.)

The staff was excellent and offered superb recommendations for all needed excursions. However, the facility was extremely cramped if you are taller than 1.5 meters and weigh more than 60 kg... I would rather pay extra and not get a hostel.

Amazing hostel!
From the outside, this hostel looks like nothing special. Don't be deceived by the exterior! Rooms were very clean and beds/linens were exceptionally comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was extremely satisfying.

Great location, friendly staff, clean facilities. Great food available nearby and grabbing a cab from the hostel was not too hard. In a busy period the hostel booked 3 cabs for just incase to ensure the fastest possible booking.

Front desk was super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was average, free anyway. A shared bathroom per room but was only shared among 6 pax- which was convenient and not much waiting to use. However the personal lights were too bright- with each on, it could almost light up the entire room, thus disturbing others.

Very central yet slightly away from the main backpacker area. Hotel spotless! Basic breakfast. Staff lovely & helpful. Webpage says airport transfers available, which is not true. Ask for a back room as front rooms noisy at night.

The best in Saigon
It was an excellent stay. From my airport pick-up to drop off. It went smoothly. The receptionists helped me booked my tours for the rest of my stay. They were helpful to any queries you want to ask. Room: The room is big enough to put all your belongings. It has an elevator so nothing to worry about having a lot of luggage. The toilet is clean and it has an everyday room make-up. So, everything will be replenished the day after. Every guest has a free breakfast set. If you order ala carte, there is an additional payment of 15000 dong. The food is great. Limited selection but great. Service: They respond to all my queries quickly. And they will never stop helping unless you are satisfied. Overall it was a great experience. Just make it sure that you book their airport transfer. It would be better to add more dong than negotiating taxi drivers outside.

Surprising quality for price!
Hostel was right along bui vien road- main backpacker street- but far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle (and noise). It's pretty easy to just walk down the street, grab a beer, and people watch. From the airport, it took about 20-30min and cost 131k dong (mailinh taxi). The hostel was locked up, though, so I had to ring a bell for a few minutes and wait for someone to let us in (was advised about this before hand). I stayed in a 6-bed mixed dorm, which was surprisingly clean and comfortable. It was maintaned every day, and there were free towels and toiletries. Wifi is decent. Breakfast is adequate-- considering it's free-- but enough to get you by til lunch (i always chose baguette and omelette). I'd stay here again, if i go back. Only con might be that there isnt really a venue to mix with other backpackers, as the lobby is pretty small. But, everything is ok as is.

New Saigon Hostel was just about everything I hope for when I arrive to a new place. I immediately felt comfortable. I booked two nights and ended up staying 1 more. I stayed in the Female Dorm 6 Bed with an ensuite bathroom which was beautiful! Our room had a large locker with a lock and key provided. TV had a few English channels which was just nice background noise while relaxing. The room was cleaned daily, fresh towels every day, too. Though they sometimes forget to replace your towel when they take the used one so just ask downstairs, no big deal! I was fortunate to really hit it off with someone in the room and we travelled together more. Loved the staff too, they were so nice and helpful!
