The place is a few miles from town. The building and our unit are in excellent shape. The staff was quite friendly. The breakfast was good.

Very easy checkin. Room was open, name on board welcoming us. Very helpful host with suggestions on travel places. Breakfast was a nice addition. Rooms very clean but best of all was the excellent bed.

The property was set in a lovely rural setting with plenty of native birds and amazing views. The host, Jen, was fantastic and offered many options for activities to check out during our stay.

This is a gorgeous place! The cabin is comfortable, the host is friendly and the grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed the private hot tub and having the little calves right next door! Also—-the star gazing swings were amazing. Loved all the flowers too. Great stay—thank you!

We regret that we arrived Te Mahru late in the evening and only spent one night. Got a beautiful garden with hot tubs. Great place to relax. Breakfast was excellent and in a home like setting where everyone sit together at the dining table and know each other. The owner is extremely helpful and friendly. Also has free laundry facilities. Highly recommend to anyone.

Beautiful, comfortable and relaxing
Awesome cottage in a stunning location just out of Kaikoura town. Close to everything but also a nice country retreat set in lovely gardens. The cottage was clean, comfortable, spacious and had more than we needed for our stay. Awesome supplies left for us to make breakfast. Lovely friendly, helpful owners. Would definitely stay again!

Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Absolutely beautiful surrounds and garden. Secluded spa was great. Lovely breakfast with extras. I would easily recommend staying here for families or couples. Very clever layout and privacy for all. So impressed and relaxed after staying here.

Beautiful, comfortable rooms. Lovely gardens. Quick drive to town. Jen made fresh homemade bread each morning and offered guests good tips for trips, adventures, restaurants. She engaged us all and got all the guests sharing stories and experiences by the end of breakfast. A remarkable part of NZ and happy we stayed here!

This was an amazing find. Best bed and breakfast we have been too. Welcoming Jen and Lorraine who would stop at nothing to make you feel at home. Flowers in your room, fresh baked bread every morning and amazing grounds. Didnt want to leave.

Beautiful property. Peaceful and quiet even when fully booked. Lovely room and outlook. Host was friendly and welcoming. Lovely breakfast - the homemade bread was delicious. Highly reccomend this place and wish we had more time to stay another night.

This is a perfect little retreat in Kaikoura. The location is great— a very short drive to the town and sights, but in a lovely and quiet location. We really enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere at Te Mahuru... The shared kitchen space is fantastic for laid-back dinners, and the included breakfast was very nice (it also makes your morning more relaxed— one less thing to plan!). The owners of Te Mahuru are there for any of your needs and have plenty of expert, local advice. We would happily stay here again, and highly recommend this for both couples or families.

We stayed for 1 night for our trip to Kaikoura this weekend. We loved the idea of casual check in and when we were greeted by the staff at breakfast, they were very welcoming and friendly. The view from our room and from the gardens was incredible, a full peaceful mountain view that never got old. The room was modern, clean and cosy. A really enjoyable stay, would like to stay again.
