Reasonable price and a great location. Especially right next to Kaohsiung main train station. It has a self help laundry, very convenient for overseas travellers.

Great location in Kaohsiung!
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is very convenient to the train station and centrally located. We had a loft room which was quite spacious and I think really great value for the price. The breakfast was excellent. I would definitely stay there again.

The property has self-service check-in but a staff member was there to take us through the process. Staff were pleasant and helpful. At reception at least a couple of staff members had good English. The property looks reasonably new and is in good condition. The room and bathroom are very compact but acceptable for a couple of nights. Unlike other hotels we have stayed at they don't provide slippers, toothbrushes etc. The hotel is located just a stone's throw from Kaohsiung Main Station.

Very clean n spacious newly built hotel. Love the tea room at level 3 opens for hitea from 3pm till 9pm where we have our games n chatting while waiting for our laundry washing. Thumb up n highly highly recommended it.

Convenient location, super walkable. Across the street is the MRT and train station! Building is a bit smelly and old. Carpets in our room were uneven and ripped in some places. WiFi was spotty, fast some times and slow/disconnecting other times. Overall 3.5 stars for me, but rounded up to 4 on app.

The accommodation was well equipped with many charging points and came with a bath tub that my daughter really enjoyed. It is located just next to KaoShiung MTR which is very convenient. We stayed at a loft unit at level 7 but just a comment that the level 1 carpet was a bit stained. The hotel staff also allowed us to deposit our luggage till late 8pm (after check out) which was very helpful.

I really like this hotel, flawless check in and check out. They have a machine for that too. Staffs are always available and very very helpful for all the questions asked. Loft is great too! Had a wonderful experience.

Convenient location for those commuting on railway and Kaohsiung Metro Red Line (although inconvenient Red-Orange transfer at Formosa Boulevard station adds slight disadvantage, since most attractions are along Orange Line). Connectivity to Kaohsiung Main Station is expected to be further improved after station exit at hotel side is completed in 2024. Room is clean and equipped with effective soundproof windows. Buffet breakfast is decent as well. Despite I was allowed to wait at L3 lounge between 1-3pm before room was ready for check-in, it would be great if front desk is friendlier.

Lost its former glory and slipping to 2 star
Used to love this hotel. Wonderful location. The "bones" of building are still good; however, management simply is not taking care of the property. The carpets are wearing out, the linens are thread bare and frayed, long term cleaning is subpar, and little things are broken and worn everywhere. I hope the owners decide to invest a little money and return the property to its former condition. However, for now it is simply into the realm of a sad tired 2 star property. On a bright note, the staff is helpful and the breakfast is wonderful.

Hotel staff are very attentive and friendly. Facilities are fairly new and clean. Towels got changed everyday, bottle water replenished daily. Very convenient location for trains and Metro subway. We stayed for 3 nights, breakfast is served daily, started out the day with a full stomach. Overall it was a good experience for visiting Kaohsiung

Nice clean near MRT
Nice hotel next to the MRT station. There is construction around the hotel so it looked desolate when the taxi dropped me off...but after taking a look around it was near stores 711 etc The best part is it's next to the kaohshung main station so exploring the city was a breeze. Good breakfast and coffee cafe

Super near Kaohsiung Station.
Hotel room - Grand Loft. They setup a pull out sofa bed on the 1st floor, and on the 2nd, there was a King and a single 'bed' (platformed sitting area turned bed). Both floors have a big TV, desk and bathroom on the first floor. The bathroom was a tight squeeze, with toilet and bathtub together, sink area outside. The setup worked for us, but i can see how it might be a bit inconvenient for families with children and elderly having to maneuver up and down the stairs. Balcony faced the huge construction of Kaohsiung Railway Station so we kept it closed most of the time. Service was average, the staff looked indifferent to us coming and going. In my opinion, this hotel wins big on location. It is the closest hotel to Kaohsiung Station in my opinion. Just a short walk across the street!

We loved the loft, and the bed was really comfortable. The bathroom is on a smaller side, but nothing inconvenient. The area where the hotel is is currently undergoing a massive construction which will be complete in 2023. Once the new station and it's surrounding area are finished, I'm sure it'll be nice.

高雄駅目の前のロケーションでアクセスは文句なしですが、現在高雄駅&周辺の工事のため日中ホテルに滞在したい方には工事音が相当響くかと。(工事の為ちょっと埃っぽい) 7階ロフトのお部屋はとっても良かったです。ベランダ付き、物干しスタンドあったので長期滞在の方には嬉しいかも。 朝食はホテル代相応かな？豊富ではないですが一通り揃っています。

Good: Pretty new and clean feeling. Basically in the train station parking lot. Staff can speak English 711 not far away Bad: Staff on duty were really awkward to me as a foreigner who lives in Taiwan. I know they wanna practice English but I was speaking Chinese, and worse is telling me I have to provide a passport when I already handed them my residency card. This happens at one out of three hotels, but I didn't go through the trouble of immigrating to another country to carry my passport around every day and be treated like a tourist. Wifi vouchers are inconvenient, plus even though my stay was for two nights they only gave me wifi for one night which cut off my work suddenly. Business travelers are tired and don't wanna go to the lobby and negotiate another wifi voucher every night. Although the sofa wasn't old or anything, it did have obvious love stains from another guest and needs a wash

This hotel is very good. Staff are very helpful. I came on a rainy day which the hotel staff helps to call out for taxi and give him a correct direction. This hotel is 3 mins far from MRT but surround with many convenience stores.

Recommended!
Room is pretty decent. Very chill cafe for breakfast. Although food variety not extensive, the quality is not too bad. The best part is it is near the train station and they have bicycles for guests to use.

The room layout was unique with a balcony and 2 storey like environment. 2 TV in the room allow u to watch different TV programme at the same time. so you wont have any competing issue with your friend or family. the only down part is the hotel canteen or cafeteria wasn't open beyond mid night.the breakfast was ok but without any changes and much varieties.

The Water Gate Hotel is new and tidy , very close to Kaohsiung Station and convenient to different places! But the breakfast is not attractive, less food to choose! The bed is too soft Anyway, I will be back! Hope the food choice of breakfast will have improvement when I come next time!
