Everything was perfect, except for the fact that my husband fell ill (we suspect food poisoning). The hotel has a nurse who assisted him and provided medication. I’d definitely go back in any case.

The resort is on an outstanding beach with the whitest sand and the clearest water. Sand flies are a problem but it can be managed. The property is beautiful even though the design/ambience is a bit outdated.

The resort is unique in its own. An unique property with a 4 km pristine beach in front. The staff is really professional and welcoming and the area is extremely clean and calm. There are, however, some aspects that might have been handled differently, such as: - communication with the hosts: after having booked the property for the new year period, we have been told that there was a 'mandatory' NYE dinner at 150usd/person, without alcohol. We found the request quite shocking as a guest should be informed before making a reservation. Furthermore, there was no menu a' la carte for that price but a series of food station not in line with a 5 star hotel establishment. The quality of the breakfast can also be improved with a better choice of gluten free options, that should be in line with the standards of a 5 star establishment. Other points to improve: - sustainability: use of plastic can be reduced, in line with new sustainability strategies of other similar hotels; - property conditions: in some houses, thatch on the roofs is almost gone and need to be put again; - looking for alternatives for energy generation: use of solar panels on houses' roofs can diminish the pressure of oil fuelled generators in the area. Despite all this the staying was relaxing although I would not classify the resort as a '5 stars' if one compares it with other ones in the country or the region.

Hidden paradise.
Hidden paradise. White soft sand beach is amazing. Staffs are friendly. But the boat ride is rough due to the weather.

Gorgeous villa with our own private pool. Massive king super sized bed which was really comfy. Breakfast was great with lots of choice and real cafe type coffee. Had trouble getting to resort from the ferry. Rang resort and they said they could not pick us up. We hired 3 locals to dink us on their motorbikes. It was pouring rain, thunder and lightening- but we made it thanks to the locals. No apologies or reasonable explanation from reception as to why they couldn’t meet us at the ferry. Next day found out from fellow guests that the resort picked them up from the ferry- they had been on the same flight as us. But they paid USD40 each one way for the resort to meet them. At least the bikes only cost USD10 each. Once at the resort it is a lovely setting and can’t fault the lovely waiter staff and cleaners. Special mention to the Activity Centre fellow who helped us rent some motorcycles so we could explore the island a bit more. We were there 5 nights which was probably too long given you are isolated at the resort. Food is nice at the resort but overpriced. You pay at least triple there compared to other places on the island. As an example you can get a 1 hour massage in aircon for USD10 but the resort will charge USD70. Pizza is about USD6 on the island but the resort will charge USD16 If they dropped the prices at the resort even by 50% I think more people would be willing to spend more and eat in the restaurant instead of ordering room service to save cash.

The Royal Sands.. words almost fail me!! Right from the start, at the Hotel's boat port in Sihanoukeville, we were treated so well ny Chanthorn, the lovely guest relations lady. First glimpse of the white sand and clear turquoise sea was divine...a real Heaven on earth!!

Amazing stay! A piece of paradise. Truly a 5 star resort. The food is incredible, staff could not be more attentive, the facilities, pool, spa, speedboat, beaches are all world class. Beautiful white sand beaches with dreamy sunsets. Well worth making the trip

Another great stay!
This was our second stay this time in one of the back villas... no private pool , outdoor shower and an obscured view of sea but near the main pool so not much of a loss. The service does need some work but mainly because they are too attentive and staff dont always talk to each other and track you down to your room even when you dont want to be disturbed. They did however go above and beyond to organize a boat to take us to main town for halloween celebrations and then on to next destination... the manager Lionel is very nice, listens and I feel confident that our next stay will be even better. this really is heaven on earth- what a sunset!

Good but could be great
The rooms are great although if you dont have a beachside one lack a little privacy as folks walking by get great view in... the food is good although crazily expensive... best meal for 4 including alcohol in the (not so nearby town) costs same as small 1 person pizza in resort and unfortunately service is just not good enough to justify. The beach and pool are fab....

Beyond word and superlatives--the Best hotel resort in over 40 years of Luxe travel (and backpacking too!). The Four Seasons has nothing on this place. Well worth the effort to get there. Unbelievable location, highest level of quality in all things and so friendly at all levels.

Lovely place. Great to see daily beach cleanup
Wonderful rooms and very well trained attentive staff. Unfortunately I was ill on my one night there most likely from the heat but I certainly would go back and in the morning the staff were excellent in ensuring I was better and even gave me some medical advice from the nurse. They also helped guide me on my onward journey. The sea around the area is wonderful and clear it is a shame about the plastic in the waters but the staff ensure the beaches a regularly cleaned which can only be a good thing for the environment.

Very comfortable and clean. Food good a bit pricey and non-motorized beach activities for example paddle boarding and kayaking were not included in the price. It was very cozy until the preparation for grand opening. Wonderful beach but will require daily upkeep.

Peaceful Paradise
Brand new hotel with excellent food and spa facilities on a white sand beach front with aqua blue clear sea. What else could you want. Being new there are some teething problems but minor which the GM Livo, is dealing with and very open minded to feedback. It is very private and quite, ideal if you want to get away from it all for a peaceful break. We did 5 nights in Siem Reap and 5 nights here, two very different types of holiday. The service from all is excellent which can only get better with experience. It is expensive but worth it.

Incredible resort right on the beach
Excellent facilities, food and drinks. Understated luxury which retains the feel of the island and the Khmer culture. Highlights included the villa's private outdoor shower, uninterrupted views of the turquoise ocean and fluorescent plankton in the sea at night. We got to enjoy this as part of our honeymoon and can't recommend highly enough.

Wir waren in einem Bungalo mit Pool. Die Austattung war super, der Strand in der nähe mit sauberem Sand und klarem Wasser. Das Personal war super herzlich und zuvorkommend.

Eine sehr schöne Unterkunft, wenn man einen Bungalow direkt am Strand bucht. Allerdings alles sehr teuer. Es kamen Transportkosten mit eigenem Boot dazu. Je Fahrt 40$/pers. Jede Aktivität vor Ort kostete und der Hikingweg in direkter Umgebung zum nächsten Ort war zugewachsen.

Regarding to our boat it the resort boat which we provide you a lot service included for USD 40 per person per way. First of all, we have our teams to service and welcome you at our lunge, prepare check in for you organize all your luggage in order with room number bring to the boat before your departure for the boat. We have provided coffee, tea, soft drink, water and biscuit while you are waiting for the boat departure. Our boat departure from our pier directly to resort pier just Infront of the resort. When you arrive at our resort pier you have our front office teams welcome you with buggy transfer to lobby and welcome and process check in at the resort. All the luggage's will delivery to your room directly after check in which you don't need to do by yourself. As you know already, we are resort on the Island isolated from everything. Les mots sont faibles pour décrire le niveau de qualité de cet hôtel. Magnifiques prestations en bordure d’une très jolie plage de sable blanc. Les repas sont excellents et le petit-déjeuner très varié. Mais le plus fabuleux c’est la qualité du service, rarement vu une telle qualité même dans des palaces parisiens! Merci au staff pour leurs sourires, gentillesse et leur professionnalisme.

Almost a paradise
The hotel is perfect, the swimming pool, the best and helpful staff, the spa, the amazing room, the most white sand, the warm and blue water, the island could be a paradise, but it is getting very dirty! Human garbage! It is a pitty! The hotel cleans everyday the front beach, the very front beach! Only if you isolate yourself in the beautiful and very expensive hotel ( I mean, you have to pay even for a stand up padle, a bike, a tranfer to the village) you will not see the sad future for the island! My best to koh Rong and its beautiful people! Thanks for the hotel! Thanks Livio and his nice staff !!!

Voici un endroit magique. villas sur la plage, sable blanc, personnel sympathique, petit déjeuner excellent. la villa est grande et confortable. pas de fausses notes que ça soit dans les équipements, le confort. je n’attribue pas la note maximale car à mon sens les extras sont sur-facturés. étant donné la situation de l’hotel, difficile de faire autrement que manger sur place et faire des activités avec l’hotel. résultat la note s’avere vraiment salée. le transfert en bateau de l’hotel est même facturé, aller retour pour deux cela fait 160 dollars.... (pour avoir déjà séjourné sur d’autres îles, c’est la première fois qu’en je paye une telle somme !) la carte mériterait des plats moins cher, on a pas forcément envie de manger midi et soirs pour 80 dollars à deux .... d’autant plus que le service mériterait plus de professionnalisme. malgré cela, notre séjour restera une excellence expérience.
