"This Kyoto hostel completely overturned my impression of local accommodations being typically cramped. Very clean and comfortable. High-quality beddings. The living room was surprisingly spacious—easily accommodating our big group with over ten large suitcases! Located near Fushimi Inari Shrine and Tofukuji Temple, it was very peaceful at night. We had brought thick bedding, worried that Kyoto might be cold, but the rooms were extremely comfortable. "The premium suite was large, comfortable and extremely well-appointed with everything you might need. The location is a bit away from the major tourist spots but it’s quite close to Toji Station and only one stop from Kyoto Station. "

"The house was great and in perfect condition.
Great location as it is 3 min from the Inari shrine and close to the train station which is always helpful.
Nothing to complain about except 1 thing: there was no pool table as shown on the photos and we were not told about it. The guy who gave us the keys told us it is being fixed, which is fine but we would have prefered to know beforehand as we were very excited about it.

"
The location of the hotel is amazing, right next to a very popular photography spot in Gion. Because of this, expect some noises as there are always photographers outside around the clock. Washer dryer is really convenient. The rooms are very well maintained. Short walk to many stores and shops in Gion. "

"It was very special experience to stay at Japanese traditonal house with my family. It was a little bit far from the main sightseeing site but we were ok because we had a car. Kinkakuji was especially awesome."

"Rooms are clean, modern, spacious and comfortable.
The self-serve check in-out misses out on a personal welcome touch.
Location is outstanding and is just a block away from the four covered shopping arcades such as the Teramachi. Also central to many temples, shrines, Imperial Palace etc. Subway is also a block away.
There are so many restaurants and bars just outside it is a hopping area for night life."
"Kyoto these days is packed with tourists. The Brighton is just far enough from the center of town to be quiet and restful while still being convenient. The amenities are far superior to those of similarly priced hotels. My room was large, sparkling clean and looked out at a lovely garden. I only experienced the buffet-style Western breakfast - a large variety of items, all freshly made and delicious. Coffee, too, was very good. And every member of the staff was kind and helpful. I strongly hope these qualities are retained after the upcoming renovation."
"Super clean room. Delicious breakfast. Lots of shops and restaurants right outside the hotel. Short walk to Gion and easy bus rides to major attractions. Useful amenities including premium lounge and laundry. Very highly recommended."
"This hotel was our favorite by far across Japan. Extremely charming, clean, and relaxing. Has everything you need and the staff was always available for us. The bath house was incredible and the hotel provided a few tattoo covers for myself. The location you cant beat either. We will be coming back."
